FROM COUNTY 4-H TO THE COLLEGE STAGE: KENLEE EWTON EARNS AIR RIFLE SUCCESS

When it comes to marksmanship, Kenlee Ewton, 18, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., is all in. She’s a regular at the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) Monthly Matches, an indoor competition series for air rifle and air pistol athletes. The event is held each month at the CMP’s own air gun ranges, the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center in Ohio and the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center in Alabama. 
CMP ARMORER CHRIS KNOTT EARNS OWN DISTINGUISHED RIFLEMAN BADGE

Chris Knott, 29, of Gadsden, Ala., has surrounded his life with marksmanship. Most days, he suits up as a specialist in the Army or as one of the talented armorers within the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) Custom Shop. Other times, he finds himself taking his rifle talents outside the maintenance realm – not only readying triggers for others on the range but also pulling triggers himself in competition. 
CMP ASSISTS WITH 2023 MARINE CORPS WOUNDED WARRIOR TRIALS

The 13th annual Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Trials were held at Camp Pendleton in California, Feb. 28 to March 12, 2023, with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) there to support the shooting portion of the event.
ELISEO CLAIMS WIN IN MID-RANGE MATCH AT 2023 CMP WESTERN GAMES

Gary Eliseo, 65, of Orange, CA, was the overall winning competitor of the Match/Any Sights portion of the Mid-Range 3×600 event, conducted for the first time at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Western Games in 2023. Eliseo reached a score of 596-25X for the win.
CMP CLUB NEWS: A BLUNDER AND MANY ACTS OF SPORTSMANSHIP SEEN AT DOWN EAST GARAND CLUB IN MARCH

Down East Garand Shooters (DEGS) is a CMP Affiliated Club in Eastern North Carolina that has a tradition of awarding one lucky member an M-1 Garand at our annual end of year banquet. Any member who has competed in a minimum of five match relays per season is eligible to be included in a drawing for the M-1 Garand.
CMP Raffling 1911 Pistol, Surplus Ammo to Early Registrants of 2023 Bianchi Cup

Still dreaming of a 1911 Pistol? The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is offering a 1911 giveaway through a special raffle for individuals who register for the upcoming CMP Bianchi Cup International Pistol Tournament, set to be held in Hallsville, Missouri, on May 23-26.

Those who sign up for the CMP Bianchi Cup BEFORE May 1, 2023, will be automatically entered into the 1911 raffle. Additionally, twenty bricks (500 rounds per brick) of .22 pistol standard velocity surplus ammo will also be raffled, meaning twenty-one chances to win overall.

The 15th Eastern CMP Games & CMP HP Rifle Matches, sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, will be held at Camp Butner, North Carolina, on 28 April – 7 May 2023. All interested shooters, whether new or experienced, recreation-oriented shooters or national championship contenders are invited to participate in these unique, national-level competitions.

Airmen bring home top honors in TAG Match - Airmen from the 139th Airlift Wing took home awards from this year’s Adjutant General’s marksmanship competition, also known as the TAG Match, which took place March 15-19, 2023 at Camp Crowder. The match brings the Missouri Air and Army National Guard together annually to go head-to-head in a shooting tournament. Wa-Hi JROTC rifle teams compete at Western Regional Championship - Walla Walla High School’s JROTC Precision and Sporter Class Rifle Teams competed at the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s Western Regional Championship in Sandy, Utah, on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15. Ten competitive marksmen from the Blue Devil JROTC Rifle program received invitations to the two-day rifle match that included 20 shots from each of three firing positions: prone, standing and kneeling. Emerald clay shooting seniors earn accolades in state competitions - The Emerald clay shooting team has been around for only a few years, but the Vikings have been pretty successful in recent years. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Since marksmanship education and training is a key component of the CMP’s mission, there are many opportunities for experienced shooters and instructors to receive advanced training in marksmanship so it may be passed on to beginners and aspiring competitors. Check out the upcoming affiliated club clinics.
CMP Garand-Springfield-Modern/Vintage Military Master Instructor Training Workshops. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-Sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Modern/Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop.
Talladega Marksmanship Classes. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park invites you to participate in its weekly firearms safe handling and basic fundamentals classes. New and experienced shooters are welcome. These classes are taught by CMP certified instructors and will include both classroom training and live firing on the Talladega ranges. Materials will cover safety and firearms handling and hands on practical application.
The CMP will be holding several Rifle and Pistol training classes. These classes will be held at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, the CMP Travel Games events and the National Matches at Camp Perry. The classes, consisting of classroom instruction, range training, and practice, fired on Kongsberg Electronic targets. The classes are structured toward teaching new shooters (both adults and youth alike), so no past firearm experience is required, though intermediate and advanced marksmen are also welcome to participate. 
The CMP Range Officer Training Course is a program developed by the Civilian Marksmanship Program to provide training and structured on-the-range work experiences to prepare interested persons to serve as qualified Range Officers in CMP sponsored and sanctioned competitions. There is a course fee of $75.00 for the Level I CMP Range Officer Training course. Applications for the CMP Range Officer Training Course are now available.

Become a Certified Crosman Challenger Repair Center. Learn how to repair Challengers (repair bolt assemblies, replace gauges, hammer springs, trigger adjustments, Challenger tune-ups, and replace O-rings). The 6-7 hour course is instructed by a Certified Challenger Assembly Technician at the Crosman Manufacturing Facility in Bloomfield, NY. Cost is $1,100. CMP 1911 Sales Program: Round 3 Announcement – The CMP continues to accept orders to purchase CMP 1911 Type Pistols. All 1911 requests must be made through the mail – no 1911s will be available in CMP stores, and no in-store or drop-off orders will be accepted.

CMP State Directors. The mission of the State Directors is to provide leadership, resource and program information, coordination, networking, motivation and publicity for junior shooting within his or her state. The CMP is currently taking applications for the following states: Delaware, Maine, Nevada, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington. CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is the "THE HOME OF MARKSMANSHIP" (no membership required) where responsible firearm ownership, safety instruction, and accuracy training reside inside a beautiful 500 acre range facility. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park has something for all types of firearms and firearm owners. The Park prides itself on its friendly - accommodating staff and the time savings of electronic targets.  
The CMP's home range is open to the public and allows the visitor to focus on marksmanship instead of spending time hanging paper targets down range. Don't be a Stranger, Come see us at the CMP Range, "The Home of Marksmanship"!
