2023 USA Shooting Rifle, Pistol National Champions Crowned - A handful of top American rifle and pistol athletes have earned the coveted title of National Champion after the conclusion of the 2023 USA Shooting National Championships. The competition was held at Fort, Moore, Georgia, June 1-10 at the Army Marksmanship Unit Pool Range where over 200 athletes competed throughout the week for a chance to be crowned national champion. Fort Moore Soldiers Seize Six Gold, Four Silver and Two Bronze Medals at Rifle Nationals - U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Soldiers won National Champion titles in six of the eight rifle matches at USA Shooting’s 2023 Rifle National Championships at Fort Moore, Georgia June 1-10. SD team takes 3rd at Army National Small Arms Competition - Four South Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers and one South Dakota Air National Guard Airman participated in the 52nd Winston P. GREAT OUTDOORS: Camp Perry hosts rifle competition - Shooting matches at Camp Perry that began in 1907 continued this past weekend with high-power rifle competitions at the facility's ranges. U.S. Army Specialist Wins Duskin 3-Gun Championships - A specialist with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit won the Duskin Memorial 3-Gun Match hosted by 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Liberty, North Carolina June 10-11. Spc. Jonathan Wiedell, a marksmanship instructor/competitive shooter with the USAMU Action Shooting Team, claimed the win at the six-stage, 400+-round match with a score of 594.4916 points and 530.37 seconds, beating out 182 other marksmen from around the Nation. Straight Shooters McDowell High NJROTC cadets compete in marksmanship program - Ten cadets from McDowell High NJROTC marksmanship team traveled to Anniston, Ala., for the Civilian Marksmanship Program air rifle camp. At the five-day camp, the cadets were coached by some of the best NCAA marksmanship athletes. On the final day, all students participated in a competition against the other 60 athletes at the camp. Timothy Sherry Earns Triple Gold at 300M Nationals - Timothy Sherry, USA Shooting National Rifle team member, earned three gold medals at the 300m National Championships May 23-27, in Elk River, Minnesota, at the Minneapolis Rifle Club. Sherry, a sergeant in the Army’s Marksmanship Unit, earned gold in Men’s Three-Position, Men’s Prone, and Standard Rifle. Click here to read the complete article.


‘Big Shooters’ rifle team earns awards at 4-H event in De Pere - Four members of the Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club youth shooting program earning top finishes at the Brown County 4-H Shoot, held at the De Pere Sportsmen’s Club in De Pere, Wis. Rising star Avery Hines to compete at National Championship - A Teays Valley girl is set to compete for a National Championship in the Civilian Marksmanship Program following a first place finish at regionals, despite the fact she felt like she didn’t shoot her best. Avery Hines placed first in her age category at the 2023 Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) 3PAR Regional Championship, which advanced her to the National Meet and a chance to shoot in the Jr. Olympics. At the end of April, Avery Hines, daughter of Aubrey and Andy Hines, placed first in the under 14 years old (15U) category at the 2023 CMP 3PAR Regional Championship. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Since marksmanship education and training is a key component of the CMP’s mission, there are many opportunities for experienced shooters and instructors to receive advanced training in marksmanship so it may be passed on to beginners and aspiring competitors. Check out the upcoming affiliated club clinics.
CMP Garand-Springfield-Modern/Vintage Military Master Instructor Training Workshops. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-Sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Modern/Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop.
Talladega Marksmanship Classes. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park invites you to participate in its weekly firearms safe handling and basic fundamentals classes. New and experienced shooters are welcome. These classes are taught by CMP certified instructors and will include both classroom training and live firing on the Talladega ranges. Materials will cover safety and firearms handling and hands on practical application.
The CMP will be holding several Rifle and Pistol training classes. These classes will be held at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, the CMP Travel Games events and the National Matches at Camp Perry. The classes, consisting of classroom instruction, range training, and practice, fired on Kongsberg Electronic targets. The classes are structured toward teaching new shooters (both adults and youth alike), so no past firearm experience is required, though intermediate and advanced marksmen are also welcome to participate. 
The CMP Range Officer Training Course is a program developed by the Civilian Marksmanship Program to provide training and structured on-the-range work experiences to prepare interested persons to serve as qualified Range Officers in CMP sponsored and sanctioned competitions. There is a course fee of $75.00 for the Level I CMP Range Officer Training course. Applications for the CMP Range Officer Training Course are now available.

CMP North Store - NM Competitor Sales. Sales at the CMP North Store at Camp Perry will be for National Match Competitors only, July 7-August 3. A selection of rifles will be available along with National Match and CMP Memorabilia. Become a Certified Crosman Challenger Repair Center. Learn how to repair Challengers (repair bolt assemblies, replace gauges, hammer springs, trigger adjustments, Challenger tune-ups, and replace O-rings). The 6-7 hour course is instructed by a Certified Challenger Assembly Technician at the Crosman Manufacturing Facility in Bloomfield, NY. Cost is $1,100. CMP 1911 Sales Program: Round 3 Announcement – The CMP continues to accept orders to purchase CMP 1911 Type Pistols. CMP State Directors. The mission of the State Directors is to provide leadership, resource and program information, coordination, networking, motivation and publicity for junior shooting within his or her state. CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is the "THE HOME OF MARKSMANSHIP" (no membership required) where responsible firearm ownership, safety instruction, and accuracy training reside inside a beautiful 500 acre range facility. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park has something for all types of firearms and firearm owners. The Park prides itself on its friendly - accommodating staff and the time savings of electronic targets.

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers.
