Winners Emerge and Qualifiers Named from CMP's 3P Air Rifle Regional Results

The Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) annual 3P Regional air rifle events were recently fired throughout the month of April, with over 450 talented junior athletes vying to qualify for the National Championship in June. Each Regional match is a 3x20 (three-position) air rifle competition, where sporter and precision class athletes from 4-H, Scouts, American Legion, club or JROTC rifle programs fire 20 shots at three positions: prone, standing and kneeling.

Open Public Range Schedule Released for CMP's Electronic Targets at Camp Perry

CAMP PERRY, Ohio -  The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has released its 2018 schedule for Petrarca Range on the grounds of Camp Perry - a public gun range which features electronic targets designed to withstand both rifle and pistol firing.

Civilian marksmanship event a great success - By Linda Gilbertson, WMSA Publicity Director - The White Mountain Shooters Association, Inc. held an event Saturday, March 24, at the Second Knoll Target Range. Those individuals attending who participated in a pistol or rifle event fulfilled the requirements of marksmanship competition to be in a lottery for a .45 1911 semi-automatic pistol from the Civilian Marksmanship Program of which WMSA Inc. is affiliated. Female-strong JROTC rifle team at Boca Ciega High School win state championship in marksmanship - By Sean Daly - Marksmanship crew wins championship - GULFPORT, Fla. - "In high school, women are going to have a lot more balance," says Taryn Spence, a senior at Boca Ciega High School. "Men, not so much." The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) brigade commander believes stability gives the her female-strong rifle team the award-winning an upper-hand on much of her competition. Pizza party honors NSC's youth shooters - By Chris Engle, Special to the Herald Times - HAYES TWP. - Twenty-three young marksmen - 12 boys and 11 girls - graduated from the Civilian Marksmanship Program at the Northland Sportsmen's Club April 11. During the ceremony and pizza party held in their honor, the junior shooters were awarded certificates, badges and pins for progress made during the six-month season. USAMU Hosts 59th Annual Interservice Pistol Championship Match in June - By Story by Sgt. 1st Class Julius Clayton - FORT BENNING, Ga. - The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) hosts and conducts the 59th Annual Interservice Pistol Championship, June 17-22, on Phillips Range.  The Interservice Championship competition is an outdoor tournament open to U.S. military members' only. Eligible participants include individuals and teams of the Armed Forces, Active, Guard, Reserve and Military Academy, along with ROTC cadets and Officer Candidate Course (OCS) students. Sharpshooters receive awards - The Dubois County Herald - The Southern Indiana Sharpshooters, sponsored by The American Legion Post 147 of Jasper, recently completed their 2017-18 annual Junior Shooting Sports Program. The top three athletes were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in two categories - Veteran and Rookie (first-year shooters) Series. Applications for the CMP Range Officer Training Course are now available.  The CMP Range Officer Training Course is a program developed by the Civilian Marksmanship Program to provide training and structured on-the-range work experiences to prepare interested persons to serve as qualified Range Officers in CMP sponsored and sanctioned competitions.  There is a course fee of $75.00 for the Level I CMP Range Officer Training course. Talladega Marksmanship Classes
 -  The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park invites you to participate in its weekly firearms safe handling and basic fundamentals classes. New and experienced shooters are welcome. These classes are taught by CMP certified instructors and will include both classroom training and live firing on the Talladega ranges. Materials will cover safety and firearms handling and hands on practical application. The CMP's popular Junior Air Rifle Camps and Clinics has openings in the Washington State Camp and the California Clinic. CMP Club Annual Reports.  CMP Affiliated Clubs, State Associations and MOUs are encouraged to visit  http://thecmp.org/clubs/club-annual-reports/    to complete an annual Club Renewal and Activity Report to renew their affiliation with the CMP. The Club Activity Report requests current data about CMP Affiliated Clubs and information about the club's activities during the calendar year 2016. Information reported is used to determine the organization's eligibility for CMP programs as well as to evaluate and develop CMP programs. Club Renewal and Activity Reports are due now. CMP Establishes Monthly Bench Leagues Designed For All Ages - CAMP PERRY, OH - If you've ever thought about trying out marksmanship but were unsure of where to begin, there's a few new matches tailored especially for you. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), an organization dedicated to encouraging and practicing marksmanship safety and competition, has prepared a Monthly Airgun Bench League, to be fired only within the indoor airgun range at the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at Camp Perry, Ohio. In addition to the airgun league, a .22 Rifle Bench League will be held at Camp Perry's Petrarca Range, an outdoor covered 100-yard range that also houses CMP Targets. Marksmanship Nights at CMP Competition Centers
