Dear Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC):
2021 is your CMPC® recertification year! Please review the outlined continuing education and exam requirements below. The application period opened September 1 and runs through November 30, 2021. A $25 late fee will be assessed on applications received December 1-31, 2021.
Recertification procedures are explained in the Certification Program Candidate Handbook on pp. 38 - 47. We recommend closely reading these instructions to ensure you compile your application materials and document your CEUs correctly.
STEPS TO RECERTIFICATION:
After submitting the application fee, AASP staff will notify our testing provider, Scantron, you are eligible to sit for the exam. Onsite testing in US/Canada and online testing worldwide is available. It can take 1-2 business days to receive your Notice to Schedule email from Scantron.
Learn more about the exam scheduling process, see a list of test site cities, and review the live-online proctoring test specifications here. Exam study resources are also available on the AASP website.
2. Take and pass the CMPC® Certification Exam and submit a complete recertification application between September 1 - November 30, 2021.
Remember, you must pass the exam before your application will be accepted. There is a 90-day retest waiting period if a candidate does not pass. Please plan accordingly so your certification does not lapse!
Of the 60 CEUs, 4 hours are required in each: Ethics, Diversity, and Mentorship/Supervision* (*M/S only required if the CMPC® wants to remain listed in the Registry of Approved Mentors). Self-Directed Study hours are capped at 8 hours. CE activities must correspond to the knowledge areas that are representative of the CMPC® content domains. AASP offers CEU-eligible webinars/virtual conferences.
- Since 2017 was the inaugural year of the new program, only attendance at AASP Annual Conferences 2017 to present count for 12 CEUs each. Like webinars, keep your conference certificates of attendance as proof of attending. Registration emails can serve as acceptable backup documentation, however, certificates are preferred.
- Failure to insert all CEU documentation into the application as ordered on the CE Activity Log will result in your application being returned.
