CMS Digest - January 18, 2023

On Monday the 16th, T4 was upgraded from version 8.3.11 to 8.3.14.

What has changed?

Updated text editor

Format menu

Special formats have been pushed down to another level of dropdowns.

Previously, they were available at Format > Formats.

Now they are at Format > Formats > Custom Formats

Buttons

The method for making buttons has changed.

  1. Write the button text and highlight it
  2. Select button type from the Format > Formats > Custom formats menu
  3. While the text is still highlighted, create a link.

Previously, the link was made first and then the format was applied.

Links

Previously, all types of links had to be edited using the ‘Insert external link’ option.

Now, you can click on a link in the text editor and it will open a window for making edits.

Spellcheck

Previously, you had to click the Spellcheck button to run a check.

Now the Spellchecker is always running.

Interface changes

New way to approve content types

Pending content types can now be approved using the action menu.

You no longer need to open a content type to approve it.

Preview and Direct edit buttons

The preview button has moved to the left side of the content tab.

A Direct edit button has been added that will open the section to the Direct edit interface.

Site structure/content search

The site structure search, found at the top right of the screen, is now functional.

Be aware that many sections and content types have been given similar or identical names. This can make search results ambiguous. Results can be filtered to increase accuracy.
