Car Drop Off/Pick Up Lane
To help ease the process, expedite the line, and keep everyone safe:
- Please pull all the way forward to the car in front of you during drop off and pick up. This allows less cars backed up on Kirkwood.
- Allow cars from each direction a chance to turn onto school property.
- Avoid stopping in front of the front doors or picking up students on Kirkwood.
- Students should exit the car on the curb side.
- You may pull into the middle lane after your child has exited or entered your vehicle to leave the line.
- If you want to pull into the parking lot, you may use the left lane to avoid the curbside traffic.
- Use a crosswalk to cross the street.
- Do not drop off or pick up any child in the middle or left lanes.
- The road that leads to the back is not for drop off or pick up. The lanes are used for busses and faculty only.
Annual Student Verification
As a reminder, please complete your student’s Annual Student Verification by logging into your Family Access/Skyward Account and click on the link that says, “Go to 2021-2022 Annual Student Verification”, found on the home screen.

Donate Unwanted Shoes and Help Dragons Reach 10K Pair Shoe Drive
Mateo Bryce, Matt and Will Blount partnered with the nonprofit Soles4Souls and are collecting new and gently worn shoes to help people in need. Please consider donating shoes that you no longer wear or have outgrown for a good cause. All sizes and types of shoes for men, women and children are appreciated. Boxes will be located at the main entrance to all elementary, middle and CISD high schools starting the week of Aug. 23 for two weeks. Click here to learn more about Soles4Souls.
The used shoes that are donated are repurposed and become a means for families in developing countries to earn a living reselling the shoes, and if the boys reach their 10K pair goal, Soles4Souls will donate new shoes to a local nonprofit.
Below is a video the boys created on the mission of Soles4Souls and the impact that a pair of shoes can make:

STOPit - Hotline reporting system
STOPit is an online reporting tool that allows us the opportunity to intervene with at risk students before they hurt themselves or someone else. It also expands beyond helping those at immediate risk of self-harm but also to support students who are struggling socially or emotionally in other areas.
Our students will have access to the STOPit mobile app which has two simple but powerful features.
Report can be used by students to report incidents to school contacts anonymously.
Messenger can be used to engage in anonymous two-way communication with school contacts.
Both Report and Messenger empower students to stand up for themselves and for one another. They can use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, or are otherwise in need of assistance. Our goal with STOPit is to create safer, kinder, school communities both online and off.
No student information is needed to use STOPit. The only way personally identifiable information will be accessible through STOPit is if a student voluntarily includes it within the content of a report or message.
You can find more information about STOPit on our CMS Counseling Page under the Counseling Tab. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of our counselors or administrators.
Thank you,
Counselors...
