NATIONAL RIDE THE WIND DAY
Ride the Wind Day  is a carefree day to soar above the earth. You can catch a ride with the breeze, or float along slowly like a gentle, late summer cloud.

Summer will soon be over. Catching the drift of this day is easy. Just relax, and let the wind carry you away in whatever direction it is blowing. Leave your troubles and worries behind for a spell, as you waft in the air.

HOSA BLOOD DRIVE
HOSA is having the first blood drive of the year on Thursday, August 29th.

The Red Cross has blood shortages and needs YOU! Please sign up to give blood. You must be 17 years or older to donate, if you are 16 years old you can donate with parents permission.

The Blood Drive will take place from 7:30am until 1:00pm in the gym to sign up click the link below.
YEARBOOK ON SALE
Order your yearbook today! Yearbooks are currently $70 each until August 31st. If you wait until September, price will go up. To order click on the link below.
PSAT REGISTRATION
It is that time of year again to register for the PSAT test.

* Registration Period:  Monday, Aug. 26 - Friday, September 13
* Where to Register: Attendance office (See Mrs. Hogue if you need assistance)
* Cost: $17.00/ Make checks payable to Central Magnet School (CMS)/ Must pay in full for registration to be final. Card payment can be taken but a processing fee will be added. 
* Fee Waivers: 11th Grade Students that are on Free or Reduced Lunch can receive a fee waiver per College Board guidelines/ Register with Ms. Hogue in the attendance office.
* Test Date:  Wednesday, October 16
 Late Registrations cannot be taken due to ordering deadlines.
Please Note: Payment ($17) will be collected in the Attendance Office with Kelli Hogue August 26- September 13.
Blessing of the Principals
North Boulevard Church of Christ held the blessing of the principals Wednesday night. A group is Central students praying over Dr. Ash, Dr. Guthrie and Mrs. Huffman so that they will have a good school year.
Look Who's Coming for a Visit!
College Corner gives High School student the opportunity for a more intimate conservationist with Collage recruiters.

PARENT WORK DAY!
Join Us! - Saturday, September 7th

CMS PTO will hold the 2nd Annual Parent Work day on Saturday, Sept. 7th from 8am - 1pm to keep Central beautiful.

We will clean up the court yard and help to make it a more attractive space. Please bring garden tools.

We have postponed the cleaning of the Teacher Lounge until December, but we are still looking for donations.

Did you know you could double your donation?  We encourage you to inquire with your current employer about corporate matching funds.

  • Many companies do provide this option to support 501(c)(3) organizations & accredited educational institutions (including K-12)
  • Some local businesses that offer matching funds are State Farm, AT&T, Nissan, Merck, General Mills, Target, Bank of America, Verizon, Dell, and many more
  • Last year, corporate matches totaled $7,201.00!

2.) Select Central Magnet PTO as your charitable organization under settings.
3.) Click the “share” button.
4.) Click “add to home screen.”
5.) Use this short cut instead of the app (it’s a very similar user experience).
