Polis executive order: Temporary cessation of all elective and non-essential surgeries and procedures and preserving personal protective equipment and ventilators
In response to ongoing the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the related declaration of state emergency, Gov. Polis issued an executive order today that directs:
“(A)ll hospitals, outpatient surgeries and procedure providers…to cease all elective and non-essential surgeries and procedures and to preserve personal protective equipment and ventilators and respirators from March 23, 2020 to April 14, 2020, with the exception of rural and critical access hospitals. Rural and critical access hospitals are strongly advised to follow this guidance but are not mandated to do so under this order.”
Colorado Medical Society encourages physicians to follow this executive order to help support our physician colleagues and the community.
