New Professional Development Opportunities Coming Soon!

The Center for Mathematics and Science Education is excited to announce two new professional development opportunities that will be held at The Toyota Experience Center located in Blue Springs, MS. These sessions will focus on designing lessons to integrate math and science for grades K-4th and 5th-8th. We are excited to bring these sessions to the Northeast Mississippi area! More information will be coming soon.

Mississippi Forge Forward

The Mississippi Forge Forward initiative is a grant funded by the U.S. Department of Defense of Local Defense Community Cooperation and provides an opportunity for collaboration between the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence and the Center for Mathematics and Science Education both located on the University of Mississippi campus. This program provides a variety of opportunities for engagement for industry representatives, students, and educators.

Two summer programs will be offered in 2022 using the IGNITE: Mastering Manufacturing Curriculum.

2022 Student Summer Experience

The Mississippi Forge Forward Summer Experience for students is open to rising (2022-2023) high school juniors and seniors, as well as rising college freshmen and sophomores.

The Mississippi Forge Forward Summer Experience for educators is a valuable tool that high school teachers, counselors, and college instructors may use to engage with students and teach them about career opportunities in the defense manufacturing industry.
