Hello!

We are recruiting for our 2nd cohort of the new short-term training program. CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator Readiness Essentials (CORE ) will prepare students for an entry-level CNC Machine Operator position in just 2 weeks! CNC operators set up, monitor, and control computer-controlled machinery to produce precision parts. This is an in-demand position with many local manufacturers! The average base salary in Oregon is $20 per hour.

Here’s what you need to know:

2-week training - 6 hours per day - 60 hours total
M - F, Feb 17-28, 2025
Sylvania Campus
10 seats available
Successful completion leads to connection to interviews with local employers

Students will learn:

machine shop safety
machinists hand tools
precision measurement and inspection/quality control
basic shop math
blueprint reading
CNC lathe and milling machine operation (Haas Certification)
And more!

Class consists of in-class lectures, hands-on lab, and a CNC project

Additionally:

Students will receive coaching on the essential skills and interview prep for Interview Day, which will take place on March 7, 2025 with local employers who are looking to hire immediately!
Course covers pathways to further education and training at PCC

Eligibility:

Students must attend an info session to be considered.
Must be able to work in the U.S.
Must have English proficiency
Must be able to complete all 10 days of the training
