CNCC will receive over $20,000 in matching funds for the 2018-2019 academic year from the Colorado Department of Education Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI). To receive these funds,
donations from new donors must be raised to match the funds. Increased donations from a past donor can also be used in the match (e.g. donor gave $200 in 2017 and $250 in 2018 - $50 can be used toward the match) . Once the matching funds have been acquired, the grant funds will be released to the college.
For the 2018-2019 academic year, CNCC will have the following funds to match:
CNCC/CCCS partnership: $4,854
South Routt County: $2,166
Moffat County: $12,750
Rio Blanco County: $4,883
Once matched, both the state grant funds and the funds raised for the match will be provided in scholarships, doubling the impact of each dollar in donations to this fund. This gives CNCC $49,306 in COSI scholarship funds for the 2018-2019 academic year from this program!
Scholarships go to Colorado students who attend Colorado public institutions of higher education. To receive the scholarship, students must be Colorado residents, up to 250% Pell eligible, attending CNCC full time in pursuit of a degree or certificate. The application for these scholarships is available in the Financial Aid Office and on the CNCC website:
