Be a Part of the 2025 WBASNY

Admission to the Supreme Court of the

United States of America


The Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (“WBASNY”) is pleased to announce a group admission ceremony is scheduled for WBASNY members at the Supreme Court of the United States of America, Washington, D.C., on June 5, 2025.


Eligibility requires applicants to be current WBASNY members (included with your CNYWBA membership!) at the time of sign-up and on June 5, 2025, have been practicing law for at least three years, and submit a current certificate of good standing with the application to the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

 

WBASNY is planning exciting pre-admission events in Washington, D.C., which will make your Supreme Court of the United States of America admission an event to remember! Space is limited. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SCOTUS ADMISSION



You must be admitted to practice law in the highest Court of a State,

Commonwealth, Territory or Possession, or the District of Columbia for at

least three years immediately before the date of application.

  • You must not have been the subject of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during those three years.
  • You must be in good standing with all Courts where you have been admitted.
  • You must appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character.

The Administrative Board of the Courts is soliciting public comments on the following four proposed amendments to court rules:



  1. Amendments to 22 NYCRR § 202.8-b to eliminate word limits on evidentiary materials, and repealing 22 NYCRR § 202.8-g to eliminate the need for Statements of Material Fact to accompany summary judgment motions;
  2. Amendments to 22 NYCRR §§ 124.2 & 124.5 relating to FOIL requests;
  3. Amendments to 22 NYCRR §§ 34.3 & 100.4 to permit judicial participation in charitable in-kind donation drives in courthouses; and
  4. Amendments to 22 NYCRR §§ 25.15 & 25.25 to credit permanent employees with time spent as a provisional employee towards qualifications to take a promotional examination.
