COLORADO #141

LAST MINUTE HIGH-SUCCESS BULL ELK

This is a rare opportunity, as this outfitter’s hunts are usually filled year after year by repeat clients, but a few folks have had to cancel their 2024 hunts due to the North Carolina and Florida storms.

This outfitter has consistently produced arguably the highest success rate of any of the elk hunts we offer, at about 90% success on 240”-290” bulls over the last 40 years! That’s simply incredible anywhere. It’s due in large part to the very well-managed Ranching for Wildlife ranches that he hunts, totaling over 100,000 acres in northwest Colorado.

These rifle hunts will be conducted from one of their long-time camps, which has just been completely remodeled. It consists of 8 private cabins that each offer a queen and twin bed, and a private bathroom. It also offers modern amenities such as WiFi and DirecTV. This ranch has the ability to provide any type of hunter an excellent opportunity for a harvest, as it has a well-established road system that can get hunters in close proximity to the elk, but some areas will require some physical exertion.

Pricing: $8,250 per person 2x1, plus license. Must be booked by group of 2!

DATES:         November 16-20 (2 spots)

HAWAII #182

AWESOME AXIS DEER ON MAUI

We at Hunt Nation have represented this outfitter for many years for tule elk and blacktail deer at his ranch in California. In 2024 this outfitter expanded his hunt offerings to include a fabulous 40,000 acre ranch on Maui where he offers various packages for axis deer. This ranch is located just outside of Kihei.

Hawaii is a true sleeper state for hunting. Hawaii and the word HUNTING don’t seem to belong in the same sentence together. Yet, hunters in the know realize that hunting on the islands is truly awesome and very productive for a wide variety of species. Throw in the incredible scenery and weather, spend some beach time with a loved one, and you have a recipe for a great trip! Oh yes, there’s some great fishing for billfish, tuna, wahoo and more, plus diving and snorkeling. Take your favorite gal on this trip!

During the winter, spring and early summer is a good time to go, meaning your regular hunting seasons are unaffected. For Axis deer, April and May mark the pre-rut, with the peak of the Axis rut usually around June 1. It is very good hunting from mid-April to mid-June. You will hit both the pre-rut and the rut, meaning bucks are moving freely. By mid-May to mid-June they’re rutting pretty hard. They are vocal so you can listen for them. Average buck size will be anywhere from 26”-33”.

Axis Deer Packages:

One day hunt. Includes one buck and one doe. $4,500

Two day hunt. Includes 2 bucks and 5 does. $6,500

Two day super hunt- Includes 2 bucks and 10 does. $8,500

  • These are hotel hunts where you arrange your own lodging and meals. Food and lodging can be arranged for an additional $1,500 for the 2 ½ day super hunt as well as the other offered hunts. This lodging normally consists of Airbnb’s with ocean front views. If you would like to stay longer this can also be arranged or add it on to your already planned vacation.

UTAH / NEVADA #354

HIGH SUCCESS MOUNTAIN LION HUNTS

Most of these hunts are based out of their property in Nevada near the Utah border (30 minutes west of Enterprise, UT). The hunting camp has a small lodge, bunk rooms, shower, internet, TV, etc. Because it gets dark so early and there is a lot of down time, they try to make camp as comfortable as possible. From the camp they are able to hunt any surrounding areas in Nevada and Utah. Occasionally they may use hotels or a mobile camp based out of travel trailers and possibly wall tents. They will also provide all the food and beverages (non-alcoholic) during the hunt.

You will hunt both Utah and Nevada. In Utah, as of March 2023, a person may harvest a lion as long as they have a valid hunting license. ($120). There is no annual limit to the number of lions you may harvest. They are licensed and permitted on the Pine Valley, Zion, Southwest Desert, and parts of the Beaver unit. In Nevada the tag is approximately $110. Hunt conditions may range from 1’ of snow to dusty dry ground. As you can see by the pictures snow is not necessary for their dogs to get the job done! They typically offer a 5- day hunt but will customize the hunt to fit clients wants and needs. Transportation during the hunt may consist of trucks, UTV’s, or horseback.

5 day 1x1 hunt. $5,550

Dates: Early December until late March.

ALBERTA #283

LATE SEASON BULL MOOSE

This outfitter hunts free range wood bison, waterfowl, wolf, moose, black bears and whitetails. His area is about 4.5 hours north of Edmonton, in the famed Peace River region. He has a wealth of experience and works hard to send you home happy.

Moose here are typically 35”-40”, with always a chance for bigger, and about 70%-80% success! That is outstanding anywhere that moose roam. Hunts takes place in the Boreal forest (big bush), using 4WD vehicles and quads. This outfitter takes only a handful of hunters per year. The Peace River area has a very healthy moose population. You’ll be in Wildlife Management Area 544, and hunts take place in the remote backcountry in logged cutovers – near lakes, natural salt licks, cut-lines and beaver dams. Moose prefer these areas for the solitude, the food, and the abundance of water. Hunting may include sitting stands and calling – with more emphasis on covering some ground and locating bulls within rifle range. Moose season runs from November 1-30, when they have finished rutting and are concentrated in feeding areas. Leaves are gone and moose are easy to spot in their wintering grounds. Snow allows for tracking into the hot spots, but a late-season moose hunt is for the hardy hunter looking for a nice bull.

Pricing: $8,500 2x1- $10,000 1x1- Observers $200 per day. License $450. 5% GST

Dates: November 22-29- 6 day hunt. (2 spots)

ALBERTA #335

LAST REMAINING BAITED BLACK BEAR SPOTS

This outfitter in late 2022 purchased an existing but very excellent, bear hunting operation and reached out to us for assistance. We wanted to sample it ourselves and give our clients the first jump on this bear hunt. Both Ed Manasse, our company president, and his Dad Butch, the VP, reserved 2 of the May 2023 spots and fast acting clients another 4. A total of 8 hunters, they took 13 bears. Ed took two bears, one that had a 20” + skull and the carcass skinned and minus head and paws scaled 283 pounds, putting it around 360 lbs. live weight.

All our 2024 clients harvested bears with a total of 11 hunters taking 14 bears and complimented him on his responsiveness, his details and his frequent trail cam pictures. From our personal observations, this is a caring guy who will bust his butt for you!! 6 of our 2024 clients immediately booked for 2025 at the conclusion of their hunt.

And now for 2025 there is more exciting news from this excellent outfitter. He has advised us that he just acquired another new territory by buying out another outfitter. The purchase includes a lakefront camp and there is fishing for northern pike, walleye and perch right at your doorstep. AND they have established 14 new REMOTE bait sites on other remote lakes, and the numbers of color phase bears in that area have historically been in the 40% range!! Given the high success we at Hunt Nation have already experienced, this is excellent news for our clients.

2025 Pricing: $4,700 per hunter for a 5 day hunt.

Dates: May 16-21, 2025 (6 spots)

WYOMING #232

BULL & COW ELK PLUS ANTELOPE

We believe this is likely the largest contiguous ranch in the entire West, at over 570,000 acres. For the trophy elk or pronghorn hunter, or the avid trout fisher, this place is heaven in Wyoming. And the prices are quite reasonable for what they offer you. We at Hunt Nation have sent many cow elk and antelope hunters here with historically 100% success. Accommodations are in a superb 4-star lodge with 2 guests per room, with private bath. We think the hunting is just plain excellent for both species.

This incredible ranch has an estimated 10,000 antelope, 2,000 elk, along with about 12,000 cattle and 400 bison. It produces 300”-class and bigger elk, and antelope in the 75”-84” range. They are also an Orvis-endorsed fly fishing operation and have thousands of trout (many over 20”) in over a dozen clear spring-fed prairie ponds and backcountry lakes. It is simply an outdoorsman’s paradise!

The ranch lies in central Wyoming in the Casper area and has elevation ranges from 6,300 to 9,200 feet. It has a huge variety of terrain, from very easy to hard, from high alpine mountain meadows to red rim-rock canyons to lush grass prairies. Most hunting is spot and stalk, using ranch vehicles to access areas. The ranch manages their timber, grasslands and water resources to nurture both the environment and the wildlife.

  • There are a lot of big bulls hiding here, and this operation takes pride in the craft of understanding their elk herds and the skill and efficiency needed to provide you with a memorable hunting experience. Elk tags are very limited here and will take 16+ preference points to draw, depending upon whether you are applying for a Regular License or a Special License. The application deadline is usually January 31 each year. The archery season runs the months of September and the rifle season runs the month of October. They also hunt cow elk until November 30 and this tag can be drawn with 1 preference point.

2025 PRICES (subject to change without notice until deposit received)

5-Day Bull Elk Hunt – $12,000 per person 1x1

COLORADO #234

DEPREDATION COW ELK ON PRIVATE RANCH

This hunt takes place on an 11,000 acre ranch in South Central Colorado. The landowner will supply you with the voucher which gives you the opportunity to purchase the tag. (Approximately $775). These hunts are nearly 100% “truck hunts”, so you will be spending most of your hunting time driving or glassing from a truck, which makes it great for hunters that can’t get around in the mountains too well. And you will likely just hunt a couple of hours in the morning and again in the evening, hoping to catch the elk moving between bedding and feeding areas. So expect lots of downtime back at the cabin!

Lodging is included. Not grandiose, but very comfortable, with generator, satellite TV, washer/dryer, and full amenities for hunters who wish to prepare their own meals.

Includes: Walk in meat cooler to cool the meat and capes, and they have a list of processors in the area. Guiding and lodging. All sheets, towels, pots/pans running water, refrigerators, stove, TV, paper products including plates, cups, paper towels and TP are stocked. You will provide your own food, cooking, and clean up. There is also a restaurant about 4 miles down the road.

Pricing: $3,000. If the land owner still has tags available there is an option to take a second cow for a $600 fee

Dates: November 30- December 6, 2024- 5 day hunt- (4 spots)

It is very much preferred that a group of 4 book as you will all be staying in the same ranch house.
