COA and COVID-19 Update
November 2020
Donate to help feed vulnerable older adults during the pandemic
We are seeking financial support from businesses and individuals to help sustain our award-winning COVID-19 comfort meal program, which has provided nearly 46,000 restaurant meals to low-income older adults in our service area during the pandemic. Find out how you can help us sustain this program, which supports our local economy and brings comfort through food to seniors who are feeling isolated, alone, and forgotten during the pandemic.

Donate today or on Giving Tuesday, December 1st!

COMFORT MEAL PROGRAM UPDATES
HEAP now accepting applications for help with winter heating bills
The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) has two different programs that offer assistance with home heating costs to low-income Ohioans. Both are currently accepting applications, and older adults or those with disabilities can get help understanding the programs and with applying through COA or one of our partner agencies. Read more.
Your holiday shopping on Amazon.com can benefit COA!
If Amazon is your go-to source for holiday shopping, make sure your purchase goes to a good cause! COA is part of the Amazon Smile program, and the company will donate a portion of all your purchases to us. From smile.amazon.com or the Amazon app on your smartphone or tablet, select Council on Aging as your charity of choice. Purchases made in the app are new to the program, so you may have to make a few changes within your app to make your purchases count.  Click here for directions on how to do this. Thanks for your support!

COVID-19 and other scams
Sadly, it seems there's nothing - not even a global pandemic - that will stop scammers from trying to bilk innocent people out of their hard-earned savings. Be aware of scams and NEVER give your personal information or account numbers to ANYONE you don't know or trust!
