NACE Career Readiness Competency: Equity & Inclusion
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) identifies Equity & Inclusion as a critical career readiness competency. In the workplace, this reflects the ability to engage respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives while contributing to inclusive, equitable environments. Employers increasingly seek graduates who collaborate effectively and recognize the value diverse viewpoints bring to decision-making.
Students can build this competency through academic and co-curricular experiences, participating in diverse team projects, attending campus programs and workshops, engaging with student organizations, and pursuing global or community-based learning. A great way to actively develop these skills is by participating in Taste of Study Abroad, happening this week, where students can explore international programs, connect with study abroad peers, and learn how global experiences strengthen cultural agility and inclusive leadership.
