A New Web/Portal Experience Coming this Spring
We're gearing up to complete our previously announced system upgrade this spring! The system upgrade will enhance the service experience for our members, providers, employers, and brokers.

What does this mean for you? You'll have a new online experience both on our website and secure provider portal along with some changes to some of our business processes. More detailed information will be provided in the coming months as we work through all the particulars that are relevant to our provider network.

We've created an easy-to-access resource library with everything you will need to know. Check back often for updated materials and information regarding the upgrade. Important information and updates will be posted on our website and on the secure provider portal, so if you do not have a secure provider account yet, go to deltadentalco.com and create one today. If you have any questions, please contact provider relations at profservices677@ddpco.com or 303-889-8677.

Meet our New Provider Operations Manager
Some of you may have already virtually met with our new provider relations operations manager in the last few months, but we wanted to officially introduce her to our provider network!

Nora Sneberger joined the DDCO team late in 2020 with extensive experience in health- and dental-care administration. She is focused on ensuring a positive experience for our provider network, process improvement, and much more.
Written Requirements for Coordination of Benefits, Explanation of Benefits
For members covered by more than one group dental plan, Delta Dental of Colorado will coordinate benefits (COB) and pay claims in accordance with the terms of the group policies, including medical plans

As a reminder, all COB claims need to include an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and effective date from the primary carrier (except in the case of Medicaid) before the claim is processed. We require the effective date of the other insurance when the subscriber is the same person on both plans in order to confirm which coverage has been in effect longer and is primary.

All COB claims that do not include an EOB (or ERA) and effective date from the primary carrier will be sent back with a request for information and a new claim produced. EOBs must be submitted in one of the following manners in order to process:

The inclusion of an EOB with COB claims is an industry standard, it also allows DDCO to pay COB claims more quickly and accurately, resulting in a win-win for our providers. If you have any questions about the change in policy, please contact provider relations at profservices677@ddpco.com or 303-889-8677.
Free Vaccination Training for Dentists
Dentists can complete free vaccination training from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to become eligible to administer vaccines.

There are four self-paced courses that take approximately three hours to complete. They cover vaccine administration, contraindications, and adverse reactions The courses are being updated frequently and provide continuing education (CE) credits.

Dentists who complete the course and would like to administer vaccinations will likely do so through large efforts organized by the government, local health systems, and hospitals, as opposed to at their local office.

To view the vaccine training modules, visit https://www2.cdc.gov/vaccines/ed/covid19/
Volunteers Needed for Dental Lifeline Network
Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) is looking for volunteer dentists who can provide access to care and education for people who cannot afford it and have a permanent disability, are age 65 or older, or are medically fragile. There are more than 10,000 individuals on the waiting list to receive services from DLN’s Donated Dental Services program throughout the United States. In Colorado, DLN currently has a critical need for volunteer dentists in El Paso, Weld, and Pueblo counties.

Can you commit today to seeing one DLN-referred patient a year? Volunteering is easy and DLN handles all the details. You provide the care in your office and on your schedule. Local coordinators screen patients to confirm eligibility, help ensure that patients show up to their appointments, coordinate lab work and specialty care, and serve as a liaison between your staff and the patient. You then work with the patient directly to determine a treatment plan.

Volunteering with Dental Lifeline Network’s Donated Dental Services program will make a life-changing difference for the people they serve. Find our more and sign up to volunteer here.
