Convenient, valuable and affordable instruction in Adult Basic Skills is now underway in Warm Springs and Madras through Central Oregon Community College (COCC) — courses that can open doors and change lives.
In Warm Springs, community members can now take a GED prep class, while classes offered at the college’s Madras campus include both GED prep and English Language Learning. Learn more at cocc.edu/departments/adult-basic-skills or by calling 541-504-2950.
The classes are open to anyone interested in improving skills to earn a GED, or practice before taking the assessment test, and learning the English language, said Seth Johnson, program director. “We teach skill-building in reading, writing, speaking, math and computer skills,” he said.
Classes are priced at $30 each, with needs-based scholarships available to students. Most classes meet three times per week and are comprised of three-hour sessions.
COCC also offers Adult Basic Skills courses at its Bend and Redmond campuses.
