Five College of Dentistry faculty and staff members inducted into UNMC's Interprofessional Academy of Educators

In September 2019, the following College of Dentistry faculty and staff members were inducted into UNMC's Interprofessional Academy of Educators (IAE):

  • Ann Alexander, education technology director
  • Shayla D. Yoachim, Ph.D., assistant professor, oral biology
  • Gregory Bennett, D.M.D., assistant professor, adult restorative dentistry
  • Jennifer K. Kallio, D.D.S., assistant professor, adult restorative dentistry
  • Larry D. Crouch, Ph.D., associate professor, oral biology

The IAE honors new members who exemplify dedication to teaching and have a passion for furthering UNMC's educational mission. Being inducted is both a distinct honor and a dedication to serving the community. Each member gives back to UNMC through participation in an interest group with annual service requirements. Interest groups bring together educators with similar interests, allowing members to share their talents with one another, develop expertise and foster scholarly collaboration.

Dr. Shayla D. Yoachim said, "It is a tremendous honor to be inducted into the IAE with my fellow College of Dentistry colleagues. As educators, we recognize that we are never done learning, and this community provides numerous opportunities for collaboration, professional development and educational scholarship. We are privileged to serve our students, college and community by dedicating ourselves to the educational mission of innovation and excellence in teaching."
