Last month, we mentioned how thankful we were that our Charitable Organization Endowment fund distribution values, buoyed by our twelve-quarter averaging policy, remain unaffected. For most funds, this means that the annual 5% distribution will actually be a little higher than last year. While we would like nothing more than to gather as a group and celebrate our strength as central Oklahoma charities, we will be sending annual distributions by mail this year. To make this successful, we are asking for your help in collecting the following information so we can mail your check and annual fund report:
- Current board list for your organization.
- Most recent Form 990 and audited financials if available. (If you do not file form 990 or 990EZ, a profit and loss statement and balance sheet is required.)
- Current filing with the Oklahoma Secretary of State as a charitable organization. (If you are exempt from this requirement, please submit a letter stating such, signed by either the Oklahoma State Attorney General or your board chair. Neither OCCF nor the Oklahoma Secretary of State can make this determination for you.)
The easiest way to submit these required documents is to claim and maintain your Give
Smart
OKC profile. If your profile is up to date, your organization will be in our first round to receive distributions by mail.
If you cannot get your new profile ready for this year’s distribution, please email your documents to
givesmartokc@occf.org
.
If your organization wishes to reinvest your distribution this year to help your fund more quickly recover from the market downturn, please
let me know as soon as possible
by using “Reinvest” in the subject line on the email.
