Northrop Grumman VP Welcomes New Cohorts of BESST Students
Northrop Grumman's Candace Givens was among industry professionals who introduced 53 new Beach Engineering Student Success Team (BESST) members to engineering this August
Dr. Bo Fu to Explore Eye-Tracking as Boeing Endowed Professor
CECS Associate Professor Bo Fu has been named Boeing Endowed Professor, and will be researching the use of eye-gazing technology to advance pilot training and aviation safety.
State Grant to Fund ZEV Training
The CSULB College of Engineering has received a $500,000 grant from the California Energy Commission to offer courses to train qualified engineers and technicians for the zero-emission vehicle industry.

CECEM's Dr. Huning Co-Authors Research in the Journal Nature
CECEM Assistant Professor Laurie Huning co-authored research published in the journal Nature on the challenges of unprecedented floods and droughts in risk management.
Students Place First and Second in NASA Zero Robotics Competition
Middle-school students saw their code evaluated on the International Space Station as part of the first year of the Zero Robotics competition at CSULB. Forty students, mostly from the Los Angeles Unified School District, participated in the program, made possible with a $131,000 NASA grant. Two of the teams placed first and second.
College Adds Six New Assistant Professors in Five Departments
The College of Engineering welcomes six new tenure-track faculty, expanding teaching and research expertise in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering & Computer Science, Civil Engineering & Construction Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering.
