As this spring semester comes to a close, we hope that you enjoy this double edition of the COE newsletter. Our sincerest congratulations go to the more than 2000 graduates of our college during the 2022-2023 academic year – we are so proud to call you our alumni and we cannot wait to see what great things you go on to do! We have many causes to celebrate this semester. We awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Said Hilal, alumnus and esteemed CEO of Applied Medical - he is Dr. Hilal now! Our seniors showcased their exemplary Senior Design Projects at the first college-wide Expo, and we hosted a star-studded Women in Engineering Conference. Our talented faculty have been awarded over $6.6M in research grants, and the fiscal year is not even over yet! The Dean’s Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Racial Justice hosted a highly successful Privilege Walk, and the BME department introduced the first class in the Metaverse. Finally, we held a ribbon cutting for the new Keysight Technologies labs in the electrical and computer engineering programs.
Wishing everyone all the best for the summer, and...
GO BEACH!
