Community Group of COF will be offering new material on
Sunday mornings at 10am in Room 110
from October 23rd thru November 20th.
THE 11th COMMANDMENT:
EXPERIENCING THE ONE ANOTHERS OF SCRIPTURE
Imagine the stir Jesus must have caused when, during his final conversation with the disciples, he announced a new commandment, Essentially, the 11th Commandment (John 13:34-35), challenged the disciples then, and us now, with a new paradigm. His statement was significant and strategic. One phrase at a time it says:
-“Love one another.”
-“As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
-“All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”
The definition of love itself is challenging. The actual doing of love is even more so.
The author of this material presents this theory: The mysterious “how-to” of love is practically explained by the One Another's of Scripture. And we demonstrate love by engaging in the One Another's.
Community Group will be taking on 5 of the 35 statements in the New Testament in which we see a recurring word pattern—
---an action verb followed by the words “one another” (example-“Encourage one another”), which will play a part in transforming us as well as those we encounter in our daily lives. We invite you to come along for the adventure!
