Message from B.J. Smyth Griffin:

To all COHS Alumni, a quick Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is B.J. (Smyth) Griffin, I am a proud graduate of Class of ’94 and excited to be the new President of O’Hara’s Alumni Association! The Board has been hard at work and has wonderful ideas with hopes that we can bring you, our alumni, back to Cardinal O’Hara. Whether you attend a sporting event, theater production, a reunion, or even a Mass, we would love to have you walk the halls again and rekindle that feeling of being a Cardinal O’Hara Lion!

In May 2023, the Alumni Board of Directors approved new by-laws. As a result, four new committees were formed: Membership, Reunion, Young Alumni Engagement, and General Alumni Events. Through these efforts, the Alumni Association hopes to build new opportunities for alumni while building upon traditional experiences.

The Class Agent Program

We are proud to announce the creation of the Class Agent Program. The Class Agent Program is group of alumni volunteers who foster relationships with fellow classmates. Class agents will act as a liaison between their graduating class and the school to strengthen alumni involvement and opportunity. We are seeking at least two members from each class to be a class agent. If you are interested or want to learn more, please click here!

Class News

Erin Dolan ‘14 has received a multi year contract extension with ESPN. As part of her deal, Erin will be Bristol-based with regular in-studio appearances on ESPN’s Daily Wager, SportsCenter, and more. Erin signed with ESPN in December 2021 and has done a variety of things for the Worldwide Leader. She will continue to create betting-specific content on YouTube – including her weekly show, The EKD Show. She’ll also make weekly appearances on Sunday NFL Countdown. Previously Erin was a sports reporter at PHL17 and did a sideline gig for the Philadelphia Wings before taking on-air talent roles for PointsBet and FanDuel.

Sheena Joyce ‘94, co-produced the top-rated ‘Kelce’ documentary for Amazon Prime Video. The documentary shows the life of Philadelphia Eagles player, Jason Kelce, as he navigates life as an pro-football player and prepares for his final season with the birds.

Brooks West ‘16, passed the PA Bar Exam in October 2023. West is a 2023 graduate of the Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law. West was also the guest speaker for the spring 2023 Academic Convocation and currently serves on the Board of Directors at COHS!

Support the O'Hara Fund

“Educating is an act of love; it is like giving life." Pope Francis

For 60 years, O’Hara has provided a transformational Catholic education to thousands of students, and we need your help to assure that this tradition of excellence is carried on to as many deserving young people as possible.

Next year, O’Hara will be the largest high school in the Archdiocese … and with that growth in students comes the need for growth in the O’Hara Fund. Over 65% of our students require financial assistance, educational resources are needed in the classrooms, and our athletics and extracurriculars need support to provide invaluable out-of-the classroom life lessons.

Please make your gift to the O’Hara Fund by midnight on June 30th to count toward this year’s O’Hara Fund goal and to ensure a loving Catholic education to all who desire to learn and grow with us.
