Silver Beaver Recipients Announced & Council Annual Dinner

The Silver Beaver Award is a national award recognizing those adult Scouters who provided distinguished and dedicated service to Scouting on the council-level.

The Cradle of Liberty Council is excited to award the Silver Beaver Award to 6 deserving recipients this year: Shaun Carroll, David Craighead, William Grant, Todd Rosenberg, Michael Raggi, and Thomas Epp.

Join us on Sunday, April 19 at the Council Annual Dinner as we recognize these great Scouters and many others for their efforts in supporting Scouting in the Cradle of Liberty Council!

Safety moments are a crucial component of Scouting America’s Culture of Safety, underscoring our commitment to identifying, preventing, or mitigating hazards and risks in all Scouting activities. As with other safety-conscious organizations, we initiate meetings and events with a brief pause to discuss potential dangers and how to avert them, focusing the group’s attention on safety protocols.

The Outdoor Adventure Lab is a program of the Cradle of Liberty Council, with the goal of harnessing the benefits of the outdoor education for all youth! We offer engaging and fun programs for teachers and school administrators to use Musser Scout Reservation for your next Field Trip! One of the important tasks you are asked to do as you join and continue to be a part of scouting is to be a trained leader. Why? 

Our youth depend on it and depend on YOU to keep them safe and provide a FUN, and engaging program. . . and training makes your job as a leader fun and easier as well!

Trained leaders deliver the promise of scouting to our youth – the promise of adventure, leadership and growth. A trained leader is knowledgeable and more confident in the role being performed. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, safety, and a whole lot more. In other words, a trained leader is better prepared to make Scouting all it can be!

Philmont Scout Ranch provides an unforgettable adventure in sky-high backpacking country along hundreds of miles of rugged, rocky trails. Program features combine the best of the Old West – horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, chuck wagon dinners, and interpretive history – with exciting challenges for today, such as rock climbing, burro racing, mountain biking, and .30-06 rifle shooting. It’s an unbeatable recipe for fast-moving fun and the outdoors.

Know a Scout who enjoys public speaking or helping showcase Scouting? We are looking for Scout speakers and Color Guard members to represent Scouting at our fundraising events that occur annually throughout the council. This is a great way to impress a room full of business leaders that can lead to opportunities for internships, references, and is great to put on your resume.

Join us for our first Merit Badge Day Camp at Camp Garrison! 

This camp will be a fun, hands-on week of learning and adventure! Scouts will have the opportunity to work toward a variety of merit badges led by experienced counselors, engage in skill-building activities, and explore new interests in an outdoor setting. Whether they’re discovering a new hobby or advancing on their Scouting journey, participants will leave with new knowledge, new confidence, and great memories from a week packed with achievement and adventure.

This is going to be a mountain-top experience for those who participate. You'll get a full camp experience including sleeping in a tent, eating in the dining hall, and enjoying program!

Looking for a way to help us make improvements at Musser Scout Reservation? Want to find a project that your unit can work on together that you and others can enjoy?

Consider joining the Adopt-a-Cabin/Campsite program at Musser! Units who adopt a cabin or campsite help us to revitalize camp, and get free camping weekends as a thanks for their service.
