Safety Moment - PA Background Checks

As part of our safety culture and in compliance with PA law, we require all volunteers and staff to have the three required PA clearances for working with children. These clearances need to be renewed every five years.

When your clearances are due for renewal, please do not wait for them to expire before obtaining or submitting new clearances. Please note that you can renew and submit your clearances anytime in the five-year period.

The state does not provide the council with your clearance certificates, rather it is the responsibility of individuals to submit them to the council once received. If your clearances lapse, we are required to suspend your Scouting registration and you cannot participate until the new clearances are submitted and accepted.

More Information, including links to obtain clearances from the specific state agencies, and the link to submit them to the council, can be found at the button below.
