The next National Jamboree will take place from July 22-31, 2026 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. The theme for the 2026 National Jamboree is "Elevate."
The 2026 National Jamboree promises nonstop action, high adventure, and unforgettable memories for every Scout. From 36 miles of epic mountain biking trails (designed by Gravity Logic!) to roller coasters of adventure like zip lines, climbing walls, and water sports—this is where adventure ELEVATES to the next level.

| | The 2026 Jamboree Band is now forming and is looking for musicians. This Jamboree staff band is made up of registered Scouts and Scouters and will supply music for ceremonies, events, concerts, shows, and will entertain the many thousands of scouts and visitors to the National Jamboree. The repertoire includes popular and patriotic music, marches, and pep band tunes. Young/adult staff are ages 16 - 29. Adults 30+ may apply, however initial preference will go to youth/young adult staff. All positions open including drumline. Scouts BSA is launching "Scouts BSA Advancement Demystified: Separating Myth from Reality," a monthly webinar series designed to clarify advancement procedures for troop leaders, parents, and Scouts.
The series begins October 1st at 8pm Eastern and will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. The inaugural session, "Advancement Myths – BUSTED!" focuses on correcting common misconceptions about advancement requirements.

The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years around the world. The next Jamboree will be held in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027 and will have approximately 45,000 Scouts and leaders from over 140 countries in attendance. Participants must be between age 14-17 at the start of the Jamboree on July 30, 2027.

Scouting America is discontinuing its national STEM Nova and Super Nova Awards program. Our council will continue to create and administer its own STEM award programs. This change took effect on June 1, 2025. With this change, NOVA and SuperNOVA counselors and awards will no longer be added to ScoutBook.
In the fall, our council's STEM committee will provide more information on the initiatives we will undertake to continue STEM education in the Cradle of Liberty. Visit scoutingphilly.org/STEM for updated information in the fall of 2025.

This is a reminder that on September 1, 2024 several policy changes went into effect regarding how Scouts can participate in Range and Target Activities (formerly called Shooting Sports) within the Scouting program. It is important to review the changes to be sure your unit is following the new policies.
While there are limited changes at the Cub Scout level, unit leaders in Troops, Crews, Ships, and Posts should review the changes before your next shooting sports activity is planned.
