The purpose of the class is to prepare program leaders to teach fishing skills, help Cubs complete the new elective Fishing Adventures at all levels, and to plan and run fishing events for their unit, district, or Council.

Cub Family Weekend - July 24-26

Cub Scouts and their families are encouraged to join us for a fun weekend of Cub activities at Camp Hart! We'll do the cooking and provide the entertainment, you just bring your personal gear and tent! Registration opens in February.

Safety Moment - Hazardous Weather Training

The current temperature and cold weather conditions are a powerful reminder to complete Hazardous Weather Training, a mandatory course for all Direct Contact Leaders. This training is required every two years and covers critical winter safety and year-round emergency preparedness. To take the training, log into your my.scouting account, click on “My Training” and find the Hazardous Weather Training link.

Join us for our first Merit Badge Day Camp at Camp Garrison! 

This camp will be a fun, hands-on week of learning and adventure! Scouts will have the opportunity to work toward a variety of merit badges led by experienced counselors, engage in skill-building activities, and explore new interests in an outdoor setting. Whether they’re discovering a new hobby or advancing on their Scouting journey, participants will leave with new knowledge, new confidence, and great memories from a week packed with achievement and adventure.

This is going to be a mountain-top experience for those who participate. You'll get a full camp experience including sleeping in a tent, eating in the dining hall, and enjoying program!

NEW - Scouts BSA Merit Badge Updates

More than 80 merit badges have been updated to help Scouts explore modern careers and hobbies, build practical skills, and engage with current topics while preserving the traditions of Scouting


The updated requirements are now live in Scoutbook and on the online Merit Badge Hub. Scouts who began a merit badge on or after January 1, 2026 must use the new requirements. Scouts who started before that date may finish using the previous requirements or choose to switch to the updated version.

2026 National Jamboree

The next National Jamboree will take place from July 22-31, 2026 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. The theme for the 2026 National Jamboree is "Elevate."


The 2026 National Jamboree promises nonstop action, high adventure, and unforgettable memories for every Scout. From 36 miles of epic mountain biking trails (designed by Gravity Logic!) to roller coasters of adventure like zip lines, climbing walls, and water sports—this is where adventure ELEVATES to the next level.

ScoutBook Plus Updates

A weekend focused on learning the skills to earn the fishing, fly fishing and fish & wildlife management merit badges. During the weekend Scouts will learn to cast a fly rod, clean a fish, tie flies, conservation practices and other skills. Range & Target Certifications Recorded

Good news - my.Scouting.org now allows for NRA and USA Archery certifications to be recorded in your my.Scouting profile! To be able to connect units interested in a Range program with certified instructors, we are asking anyone with an active certification to submit it so we can add it to your profile. 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland

The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years around the world. The next Jamboree will be held in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027 and will have approximately 45,000 Scouts and leaders from over 140 countries in attendance. Participants must be between age 14-17 at the start of the Jamboree on July 30, 2027.
