COLORADO SENATE HONORS ROCKMOUNT'S 80th ANNIVERSARY

Rockmount's 80th Anniversary and its unique role in giving a fashion identity to American Western lifestyle was honored by the State Senate on January 29, 2026. The event was attended by Steve & Wendy Weil, the Rockmount team including Gretchen Bunn, Kyle McAfee, and friends Judge Adam Espinosa, Jacques Machol, Leo Boyle and John Lay. The Senate rarely recognizes private companies but an exemption was made in consideration of Rockmount's special history. View the video clip from the tribute.

We are also showing you some of our new collection which sold very well at our first tradeshow and is now in production for delivery Spring and Summer. We will be releasing images each week as there are over 25 new designs that had high presales to stores from around the USA, Canada, Japan and Europe.

President Ronald Reagan loved to wear Rockmount throughout his accomplished life. As an avid outdoorsman and horseback rider, he wore various styles of Rockmount from his days as a Hollywood actor up until his post-presidency. He even sent Papa Jack a letter of gratitude that we display in our flagship store in Denver.

Country music superstar Garth Brooks is the only artist in music history with nine Diamond-status albums, eclipsing the previous record of six held by The Beatles. He's shown in a signature Rockmount shadow plaid 693-BLK/BLU.

James Spader is known for eccentric characters in films such as the drama Sex, Lies & Videotape, the science fiction film Stargate, the psychological thriller Crash, the erotic romance Secretary as well as Steven Spielberg's Lincoln. He's pictured with William Shatner on-screen in the television series Boston Legal in Rockmount floral embroidery 6724-BRN/TURQ.

Happy Birthday to John Hickenlooper, a friend since the 80s. We met then when he had a wacky idea of starting a beer pub and renovating an old warehouse on skid row. This was during a recession. Downtown Denver was distressed. John opened the Wynkoop Brewery down the street from Rockmount. It was one of the first brew pubs in the country. I helped him get his liquor license.

A lot of beer has passed under that bridge. John ran for Mayor of Denver. We thought it was a hoot. Even my father, Jack B. (a moderate Republican and state party leader), supported him – not because he had little chance but because he is our friend. Much to everyone’s surprise he beat the machine and won, breaking political cronyism for 8 years. That led to his becoming Governor of Colorado, another 8 years. Now he is US Senator, still wearing Rockmount.

John never missed a chance to mention his friendship with our family when wearing Rockmount at events. John led economic development and revitalization because he as a small businessman he understands business reality, unlike so many bureaucrats. We are proud to call him friend.

James Dean was an American actor. He brought his personal experiences, attitudes and feelings into his acting and silver screen image, Dean blurred the line between reality and fantasy in Hollywood. He did something that few other actors had done before him: he invited audiences to understand him intimately through the lens of fictional storytelling. He's seen below wearing vintage Rockmount denim.
