he Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees has initiated the process of transitioning from at-large elections to "By-Trustee-Area" elections, beginning with the November 2018 election.
The following is an outline of the 90-day window for the District to host a series of required public hearings and community meetings to ensure compliance with the law and best ensure that the public has ample opportunity to engage in the process, as dictated by the California Voting Rights Act. The 90-day period began on the day the District adopted a resolution to initiate this process.
TIMELINE FOR CVRA PROCESS
July 24, 2017 - Pass Resolution to Initiate Transition to By-Trustee-Area elections
August 8, 2017 - 1st Pre-Map Public Hearing (Regular BOT Meeting/Open Session)
August 8-14 - Approximate timeframe of Toolkit release to public
August 14. 2017 - First Day of 2017-18 School Year
August 16, 2017 - Community Meeting No. 1 (Pre-Map), Wells MS Dining Pavilion, 6:30 p.m.
August 17, 2017 - 2nd Pre-Map Public Hearing (Special BOT Meeting/Open Session)
August 21, 2017 - Community Meeting No. 2 (Pre-Map), Fallon Middle School MP, 6:30 p.m.
August 23, 2017 - 30-day Deadline for Pre-Map Process
August 30, 2017 - Release map options to the public.
September 5, 2017 - Community Meeting No. 3, Fallon Middle School, MP, 6:30 p.m.
September 11, 2017 - Community Meeting No. 4, Wells MS Dining Pavilion, 6:30 p.m.
September 12, 2017 - 1st Public Hearing re: Map Options (Reg. BOT Meeting/Open Session)
September 18, 2017 - 2nd Public Hearing re: Map Options (Special BOT Meeting/Open Session)
September 26, 2017 - 3rd Public Hearing re: Map Options (Reg. BOT Meeting/Open Session); Adopt map option; Public Hearing re: Waiver, Authorize waiver submission
October 22, 2017 - 90-day deadline
