OPEN MIND. OPEN BOOK CLUB

OPEN MIND. OPEN BOOK CLUB
Summer Discussion: The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker
Beginning Tuesday, July 25 at 7 pm in the Cozy Couch Room at St. Matthew's
"People have to take chances in order to do something extraordinary." - Priya Parker.

The St. Matthew's community is invited to an extraordinary summer book discussion on the Art of Gathering by Priya Parker. We will experience what it means to take a human-centered approach to meaningful and memorable experiences together. We will meet Tuesdays at 7 pm (July 25, Aug 1, 8, 15, 22) in the Comfy Couch Room at St, Matthew's. Come to one discussion, or come to them all! You do not have to keep up with the reading to attend. Our conversations will be grounded in the book "The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters," During this time, we will also plan our own gathering for St. Matthew's on August 27 after the 10 am service. "For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them." Matthew 18:20
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Amanda Bedsaul at [email protected] or Stephanie Kincaid at [email protected]. (This book discussion is hosted by the St. Matthew's Council and St. Matthew's Anti-Racism Team)

NO FUSS FUNDRAISER

NO FUSS FUNDRAISER

Through Sunday, May 21

This summer the youth will be adventuring on two different trips, Idaho Servant Adventures, a service trip the Silver Valley where we will work in community with under-resourced people, and Leadership LAB, an experiential learning for both students and adults to gain practical leadership skill for the church and greater world.

During the month of May participants going on our 2023 Summer Trips will be holding the No-Fuss Fundraiser, and we invite you into our trips with us both prayerfully and with financial support—nothing is too big or too small. Each week participants will meet you in the Narthex and share about their excitements for the upcoming trips. Envelopes will be available for you to take, fill, and return. Donations may also be give to YOUTH SUMMER TRIPS online on our giving page: https://www.stmatthewsrenton.org/giving

Please be sure to mark these with a note/memo for the fundraiser so that gifts can be appropriately given for these trips.

St. Matthew's Welcome Statement

St. Matthew’s is a passionate, imperfect community of Christ. We boldly affirm people of all cultures, ages, abilities, stories and experiences, skin tones, sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. We trust in the ridiculous love of God that shows no partiality. When our unique identities are used to divide or hurt us, we are committed to reconciliation and healing, so that justice, racial equity, grace and inclusion continue to be our way of life.
