Becoming BN VIRTUAL 2020 Program
SAVE THE DATE

Becoming BN is a program designed to introduce early career, summer interns, and grad students to the wonderful attributes of the Bloomington Normal community.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are holding a VIRTUAL Becoming BN Program for the Summer of 2020 .

Weekly virtual sessions kick off the week of July 6th and conclude the week of July 31st .

Virtual sessions will include "chats" with local leaders, young professionals, and CEO's. Additional speaker details will be announced soon!
GET HIRED ILLINOIS PORTAL

The Illinois Department of Employment Security and The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have partnered to launch the Get Hired Illinois Portal. 

The portal connects employers looking for workers to workers looking for work, and highlights job searches, virtual job fairs, and online training opportunities.
MID CENTRAL COMMUNITY ACTION
COVID-19 STABILIZING RESOURCES

MCCA now has resources to aid individuals and families that have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Resources are provided through the Community Service Block Grant COVID-19 CARES funds.

Resources include, but are not limited to, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, utility assistance, transportation funds as well as scholarships for education.

During the JA Program Update you will hear about all of the new, innovative, virtual resources available to K-12 central Illinois educators for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year!

Enrichment and professional development offerings will resume again in August.  The Essential Workplace Skills (EWS) course registration for this Fall is Open! Examining the Future of Work and Wellbeing: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released a blog on how the future of work will impact our wellbeing . As workers turn to the gig economy to mitigate COVID-19's impact on their employment, they face new health and equity challenges.


Forecasting Recession's Impact on Class of 2020: The Georgetown Center for Education and the Workforce shared economic projections on the Class of 2020 and the impact graduating during a recession can have on life-long earnings. The authors explore different potential scenarios to help counter these effects.
