Intro to Ukulele for Adults
Mondays, 6 to 7 pm, May 1 through June 12
Final Concert on June 14!

Want to bring out your inner (acoustic) rockstar? The Library has ukuleles! Check one out (for this class only!) and learn the songs you love in this Intro to Ukulele class. Adults only, please. (Kid’s class coming soon!)

Registration is required sign up for this 6-week class and check out one of our new ukuleles or bring your own! Class culminates in a mini-ukulele concert to showcase all you've learned. Taught by Sedona's own Gioia Quisumbing of the band Sugar Moon. Register here.

This one-hour, relaxing and meditative class is an introduction to Tai Chi, taught by Sedona’s own Dr. Mike Yuen, a Tai Chi practitioner for 50 years.

No registration required just dress in comfortable clothes and wear appropriate footwear.
Verde Search and Rescue Hiker Safety Program
Friday, May 5
3-4:30 pm in the Community Room

Tim Anderson, Captain of Verde Search and Rescue (VSAR) and teammates will give an overview of VSAR search and rescue capabilities, speak about some actual rescue missions, and teach what you need to know about hiker safety—how you can protect yourself, your family, and your friends from needing search and rescue services.

If you’re an experienced hiker or just a beginner, don’t miss this important class!

Verde Valley Woodcarvers Display & Workshop

Enjoy this display of wood carving and woodworking projects from members of the Verde Valley Woodcarvers.

Families are welcome to join us in the courtyard for a Soap Carving Demo & Workshop on Saturday May 20 from 11 to noon. Registration is required. Register here.

Coffee with a Vet Breakfast by SedonaKind
Friday, May 12 at 10 am

The generous women of SedonaKind will be treating all to brunch at this special, yearly Coffee With a Vet.

The program includes a showing of Wings of Silver- The Vi Cowden Story. This multi award winning documentary short follows one 93 year old woman's journey from the Black Hills of South Dakota (where she learned to fly biplanes) through her experience flying fighter planes for the Army Air Corps in WWII. Vi was among the first women in US history to fly military planes from the factories to their debarkation points. It's an engaging and inspiring story! As the film says, "when the country needed every man, she answered the call.”
From Bach to Broadway

Founder & Director of the Red Rocks Music Festival Violinist Moshe Bukshpan will perform selections by Bach and show tunes from Broadway. Mr. Bukshpan will also discuss the upcoming programs of the Red Rocks Music Festival. Q&A will follow.

Moshe Bukshpan is the founder & Executive Director of the Red Rocks Music Festival. Mr. Bukshpan holds a Master's degree in violin performance and has been teaching and performing throughout Arizona for the past forty years.

SPL Book Club

Join author T. L. Derks for a viewing of the movie Last Full Measure and a discussion of how it compares to his book Particular Bravery. Learn more here.

T. L. Derks is the author or co-author of numerous articles about 20th-century combat that have appeared in Vietnam and World War II magazines. Derks teaches history online to veterans and active-duty service people at American Military University. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
