Global Mission & Outreach
Summer 2021 - Zoom Around the World
by Shireen David
Over four Sundays in July, our congregation “traveled" virtually to the Congo, Rwanda, the Dominican Republic, and Uganda to visit All Saints global mission partners. Despite being unable to take in-person mission trips, we thank God for the special opportunity we had through Zoom for many more parishioners to “visit” our global mission partners this summer.

The ZATW center was set up in the Great Hall where people gathered safely in-person - or via Zoom from home - to hear from Rev. Bisoke in the Congo; the Mustard Seed Project, Bishop Sam and Bishop Deo in Rwanda; Dr. Silvia in the Dominican Repbulic; and our very own Richard and Catherine Ranger in Uganda.

Armed with a colorful and informative itinerary and carry-on gift bag, we arrived at the designated ZATW destination ready to see our global partners and hear about their work, the challenges, and the victories!
Overall, the pandemic has affected the scope of our global mission partners’ work and reach, increasing the needs of the people they serve. All have have found creative ways to stretch their resources. They are grateful to count us as partners and reported that - thanks to our commitment to them - they have been able to continue serving their communities despite such pandemic challenges as increased food insecurity. Rev. Bisoke in the Congo reported that in addition to the pandemic, his community in Bunia still deals every day with the ravages of war and violence. But thanks be to God, he experiences new mercies every morning!

The final ZATW destination was to visit with the Rangers in Uganda, catching up with them about six weeks after they arrived at Uganda Christian University. It was encouraging to hear how God has been providing as they settle into their new lives and build new community. We also learned that their faithful pet Trooper is a vital member of their missionary team as he befriends the children in the neighborhood, leading Richard and Catherine to meet new people and grow their network.

Stay tuned for future ZATW trips where you can once again meet and hear from our global mission partners!

A Fantastic Summer Camp for
All Saints Preschool
by Lisa Hollingsworth
All Saints Preschool had a BLAST during the 8 weeks of Summer Fun Camp with a record-breaking number of children in attendance. Our teams of counselors provided good old-fashioned summertime fun with plenty of outdoor water play, bubbles, games, messy art, and more!

The activities were designed and created around a variety of child-friendly weekly themes, including such themes as Wide World of Sports, Beach Week, Into the Woods, and Down on the Farm. A particular favorite was a fun week called Space Camp: the highlights were making space helmets to travel “out of this world” and our cooking project – making the solar system out of foods we eat. (See photos, below.)

We are planning for a successful school year ahead and were excited to open our doors this past Monday for the first day of the 2021-2022 school year to many returning families and even more newcomers.
Faithfully Yours,

Lisa Hollingsworth, Director
