DMSB Co-op Awards

On May 5 at the Alumni Center, 10 outstanding D'Amore-McKim undergraduate students received the DMSB Co-op Award for demonstrating exceptional leadership, resilience, and a strong commitment to their professional and personal growth during their co-op experiences. Each awardee served as a role model, providing professional development mentorship to other Northeastern students through Peer Mentor programs, teaching assistantships, and leadership in student organizations. They all held co-op positions across the United States and internationally, working with major financial institutions, major accounting firms, government embassies, and innovative start-ups.

Half of the recipients will be returning full-time to one of their co-op or internship employers post-graduation. In the words of one Co-op Award honoree, “both my co-ops have changed the trajectory of my life. After graduation, I plan to return as a full-time consultant at [my former co-op employer] and to build the foundation I established during my co-op. Without my co-op, I never would have been offered this job, so I am eternally grateful for the Northeastern University co-op experience.”

May NYC Event Connects

Co-op Alumni

On May 15, DMSB Cooperative Education faculty gathered with alumni in New York City for the second time at a lively networking event. Well represented this year were our Peer Mentor alumni. As upperclassmen who have completed one or more co-ops, Peer Mentors serve as teaching assistants in our Professional Development for Co-op course, as well as role models for our students, and are an integral part of what makes our co-op program unique.

Now representing many companies and industries, these dedicated young alumni continue to advocate for the Northeastern co-op program. Our team was delighted to reconnect with former students, where attendees enjoyed reminiscing with recent graduates, co-op faculty, and peers from their time in DMSB.

If you’re an alum interested in getting involved or participating in a future alumni event, please email our employer engagement team at dmsbcoopjobs@northeastern.edu.

The world of work is continuously being transformed, with remote and hybrid work, the recent explosion of AI, and an evolving workforce among many factors at play.
