A SUCCESSFUL CAREER DAY
Mrs. Rod ‘70 and Rashawn Fulcher ‘97 are all smiles at Career Day.
Current Spanish Teacher, Fernando Barragan ‘12 welcomes back fellow classmate and Career Day Speaker, Erewa Uku ‘12.
The Class of 2022 and Class of 2023 were treated to a remarkable Career Day this year! Rashwan Fulcher ‘97, author, life coach and motivational speaker, kicked off Career Day with his inspiring words to our students. He shared the many lessons he learned from his time as a student and as a member of the SJND basketball team.

After the amazing opening session, students were able to choose which particular career session to attend. These sessions focused on law, global health, sports management, investment and wealth management, computer engineering, performing arts, business, entrepreneurship, emergency services and social media. Students also had the opportunity to participate in career workshops that highlighted adulting, basic finances, and student loans. These workshops led our students to more clearly discover their authentic dreams and to gain the proper tools to pursue their dreams.

A special thank you to our alumni and guest speakers who contributed to making Career Day a success!

I'M ALL HEART FOR SJND- 4TH ANNUAL DAY OF GIVING
Thank you to all who shared their collective heart and gave in support in SJND’s 4th Annual Day of Giving - One Day One Heart #OneSJND.

It was truly a remarkable day as the Pilot community, near and far, came together to raise money in support of our students and programs. With more than 350 donors, we were able to raise $75,940 and achieve our goal!

These past two years have challenged all of us in various ways. For many of our students, the transformative high school years have been cut short. For others it has awakened their spirit of kindness towards others and their desire to make the world a better place. For our teachers, it has reconfirmed their commitment to developing the next generation of confident, open-minded, and effective leaders who are ready to live joyful lives of faith, scholarship, and service.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our students and sharing your heart for One Day One Heart #OneSJND.
SJND senior, Nicholas Hoo ’22 noted how “SJND has inspired me, given me the confidence and supported me in being the best version of me that I can be. Constantly improving my mind through academic study, I try to improve the way in which I treat other people.”
SJND ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
The SJND Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 1996 as a way to honor alumni and supporters who have committed themselves and made historical impacts on the athletic program and the school.

The Hall of Fame was paused in 2000 and then the tradition returned in 2018. We are honored to have brought this tradition back and have many generations of St. Joseph High School, Notre Dame Academy and Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School supporters.
On Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th SJND inducted the Class of 2020 and Class of 2022 Hall of Fame members. Both nights were celebratory and filled with family, friends, good food, great decorations, lots of Pilot pride and a few happy tears.

Current Religion Teacher and Assistant Baseball Coach, Josh Hammer served as Master of Ceremony for Friday’s Induction and our very own Bob Butler ‘71 served as the Master of Ceremony for Saturday’s Induction. Tony Aiello, former SJND Principal and Hall of Fame member, closed each evening by reflecting on how our honorees showed gratitude to their families, SJND, coaches and friends.
Congratulations to the 2020

SENIOR PRESENTATION CEREMONY
The Alumni Office was thrilled to welcome back Matthew Graybeal ‘16 as the alumni speaker for the Class of 2022 Senior Presentation Ceremony. Matthew received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He served as the Deputy Executive Director of the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau and will be moving to Wisconsin for a new position as Ingredient Merchandiser for Vita Plus.
Matthew shared some words of wisdom with the Class of 2022, “Once you graduate and start college in the Fall, you will enter a world where you are given a clean slate. You are getting an opportunity to unapologetically be yourself, whatever that looks like, and that is wildly exciting.”

He also shared sage advice from his Dad, “In order to succeed, you don’t need to be the best at what you do, you don’t need to be number one, but you do need to be the hardest working person in the room.”

In closing, Matthew reiterated the importance of giving back to the people and places that have helped you along the way. For example, taking someone under your wing that has shared interests with you or returning to your high school and reflecting on lessons you have learned throughout your life. Remember the people that helped you, such as your parents, coaches, teachers, club presidents, sport captains, and priests.Whoever it may be, make an effort to be that person for someone else.

Thank you Matthew for inspiring today's students and we wish you the best of luck in furthering your career inWisconsin. We look forward to following your success.

The book is a heartwarming story about the joys of multicultural families and being mixed race. One Hundred Percent Me takes readers (ages 4 to 8) along as a young girl explores and accepts her unique identity.
This illustrated book encourages all readers to embrace the fact that we are all 100% ourselves and to celebrate our differences and to claim our belonging and heritage.

You can purchase your copy today at Target, Amazon, or Walmart.
We have another alumni author, Avery Duberry ‘16. He just released his first comic book miniseries titled Diving Biology.
