ALUMNI SOCCER AND BASKETBALL GAMES

The Athletics Department and Alumni Relations are teaming up to bring back the Alumni Soccer Game on Wednesday, November 22, at 4:00 p.m. at the College of Alameda. Please RSVP to play in the game by 11/17/23.
This year’s Alumni Basketball Games will be played on Friday, November 24, starting at 4:00 p.m. with alumni graduating in odd years playing alumni graduating in even years. At 5:00 p.m. our varsity team will take on our alumni from 2013 to 2023. You must RSVP to play in the games by 11/17/23.

SCIENCE FAIR JUDGES NEEDED | |

The Diocese of Oakland Kristina Taylor Science Fair presented by Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024 and we are in need of judges.
As a judge, you will review science project displays using a developed rubric and then interview students using assigned questions as a guide. No previous science fair judging experience is needed.

There will be an orientation for the judging processes via Zoom the week prior to the science fair. If interested, please complete the Registration for Science Fair Judges form by November 15. Yes, our 9th annual Dream Flight Gala was a huge success with a fantastic turnout and record-breaking generosity. The Claremont Country Club Ballroom in Oakland was filled with alumni, alumni parents, and friends of SJND. Thank you to the Kelly Family (classes of '51, '76, '79, and '80) for their generous sponsorship of the event.

Congratulations to our Christi Matri recipient Mark Zimmerman '68. And, a huge thank you also to all of our attendees, donors, sponsors, students, staff, and volunteers who made this a memorable night for tuition assistance for our hard-working, deserving students. From the student entertainment, the student keynote speaker, fantastic food and drink, live and silent auctions,

FREE ESTATE PLANNING WORKSHOP ON NOVEMBER 5 | |

Join attorneys Patricia A. Scott and SJND Trustee Christopher Aria '08 for an informational seminar on creating an estate plan as a way to care for yourself and your loved ones.
Topics discussed will include methods of planning for death and incapacity, the differences between a Living Trust and a Will, and the impact of creating a thoughtful estate plan after death, including how to avoid costly probate. Patricia and Chris will also provide information about how to give to family, loved ones, and organizations that are meaningful to you. The presentation will include a question-and-answer session.

Patricia A. Scott is the founder and principal attorney of Patricia Scott Law, APLC, a boutique law firm located in downtown Alameda, which has been serving the community for over 20 years. Patricia and her family are longtime St. Joseph parishioners.
Chris Aria is an associate attorney at Patricia Scott Law. He was inducted into the SJND Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020.

VARSITY SAILING TEAM GETS OFF TO AN EXCELLENT START | |
|
Congratulations to the SJND varsity sailing team and its strong showing in its first regatta of the year in the NorCal Regatta at the Richmond Yacht Club. In the Silver Fleet competition, Luke Probst '26 and Ella Schwartz '27 sailed to a solid 16th place and Melina Ahrens '27
and Ella placed an impressive 6th in their first regatta. Amanda Wheeler '25 and Reuben Butt '27 were moved up to the Gold Fleet and placed 19th
in this highly talented fleet.

Our Mornings with Admission sessions begin in the SJND Miller Library at 9:00 a.m. We'll discuss the admission process and the characteristics that make SJND the special place that it is. We'll also have a student panel to talk about their experiences and answer questions. Then, we'll take visitors on a tour of our school.

Sisters Eileen Dunn '79 and Maureen Dunn '75 have been owners of Done to Your Taste Catering and Events in Park City, Utah for more than 30 years. In that time, they have had the opportunity to provide services for the Olympics, US Ski & Snowboard, Sundance Film Festival,
and more. This past summer, they had the great opportunity to provide their services to
President Joe Biden. According to Maureen, “It has been an exhilarating experience and we
