MCC North London is celebrating their 40th birthday this 3rd September!

Sunday 3rd September at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT

Our celebratory service will be at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, WC2H 8EP (London, England)

Come and celebrate with us 40 years of inclusive faith, hope and love in this community. God has done great things for us, and we want to take this moment to say Thank you, to each and every one for their part in our journey, and above all to God for the grace that has carried us through these 40 years – sometimes wilderness and sometimes pastures green, but always with God making a way.

You are warmly welcomed to be part of this service, if you want to join online.

"The Gift of Being Present " Advent Zoom Gathering

The Advent series "The Gift of Being Present" invites us to be present with hope, peace, joy, love, and light. This series follows the scriptures from the Revised Common Lectionary, Year B. This excerpt from the series synopsis gives you an idea of where this is going: “…sometimes we overlook the greatest gift of all…our very presence. … This season, we are invited to be the gift of presence for our loved ones, for our communities, for those who need it most.”

For those who have decided to use “The Gift of Being Present” from the Worship Design Studio for this Advent, we are offering a Zoom gathering to share ideas on how we will use the resources locally. This may be particularly helpful for those not familiar with resources from the Worship Design Studio or those smaller churches who have limited music options or who rent/share worship space.

Advent/Christmas from A Sanctified Art

https://www.sanctifiedart.org

How Does a Weary World Rejoice? follows the story in Luke 1-3 along with some of the Hebrew tests from the Revised Common Lectionary Year B. You can purchase individual components or the whole bundle of resources, such as: Words for Worship, Sermon Planning Guide, Liturgy for the Weary, media resources, Children’s Curriculum, Advent Devotional and more.

“How does a weary world rejoice? From the opening chapters of Luke’s Gospel, we have found a few answers: we acknowledge our weariness, we find joy in connection, we allow ourselves to be amazed, we sing stories of hope, we make room, we root ourselves in ritual, and most importantly, we trust our belovedness.”

Blessings and Curses:

What is your building bringing you?

Owning property can be a resource for doing ministry and provide a sense of stability for a congregation, but it can also be a tremendous responsibility and drain financial resources. Many congregations are finding themselves in buildings that were designed to house past generation churches rather than 21st century models of ministry. If you are part of an MCC that owns a building and would like to be part of a cohort that is being organized to discuss how to address the curses and/or realize the blessings contact RevDexterBrecht@MCCChurch.net
