Rev. Amie Giordano, Pastor of Metropolitan Community Church of the Redwood Empire (MCC RE), announced the 41st Anniversary Celebration of MCC in Guerneville, California, USA. She has served as Pastor since August, 2019. 

To help celebrate the event, Rev. John Torres, founding Pastor of this congregation, will be preaching at the 11 AM service on Sunday, October 22.



The service will also be available on Zoom. Rev. Torres and his partner, Tim Webb, founded the church in 1982. Both are still active in the church with Rev. Torres preaching a few times a year and Tim serves on the Board of Directors.

James Cone in a Global Context

On October 7, 2023, join Episcopal Divinity School for James Cone in a Global Context, a day-long online seminar exploring the impact and implications of the Rev. Dr. James Cone’s theology in the UK and across the globe. Episcopal Divinity School’s Interim President the Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas will facilitate the seminar.

Centered around Cone’s groundbreaking book A Black Theology of Liberation, this seminar will include plenary conversations, discussion groups, and lectures on how his work has been studied, celebrated, and challenged in various contexts and cultures.

A recording of this seminar will be available to registrants for one month after its live date.

Owning property can be a resource for doing ministry and provide a sense of stability for a congregation, but it can also be a tremendous responsibility and drain financial resources. Many congregations are finding themselves in buildings that were designed to house past generation churches rather than 21st century models of ministry.
