Prayer for the Affirmation of New Elders
|
Creator God, you made each of us in your own image.
You offered each of us the gift of the Holy Spirit,
as we follow in the footsteps of Christ.
Let your Spirit be evident in us now
as we call upon a new Council of Elders to serve and lead us.
Bless us in our discernment and vote of affirmation.
We give thanks that these individuals are willing to serve,
inspire and guide us at such a time as this.
We pray for Metropolitan Community Churches around the world,
as we work together to bring hope,
build inclusive communities, strive for justice
and allow space for the Holy Spirit to transform each one of us,
so that we may transform the world.
In your many names, we pray. Amen.
Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston
