Torah Study - Saturday, February 28 at 9:00am

Twice a month on Shabbat mornings, Temple Sinai members gather to discuss the ideas presented by the week’s Torah portion. We begin with a light breakfast and singing and then then explore the Jewish ideas that emerge from the weekly Torah reading. In person or click here to join on Zoom.

Join us each Thursday for a lively and friendly class with Rabbi Vogel. We study a wide variety of topics, rotating to a new field of study about every six weeks or so. Thursday Study includes discussions, films, text study, and an occasional guest speaker. Join us each week or feel free to drop in just once! Contact the Temple office to be added to the email list for information about each week’s session and link. In person, or by Zoom. All are welcome! 

The Rainbow Committee Movie Night Series event scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 5:00pm has been canceled.

And... it's a MITZVAH to Give Tzedakah for Purim!


Once again this year, our congregation participates in the Purim Tzedakah drive with Yad Chessed ("a hand of loving-kindness"), a local tzedakah organization that supports Jewish individuals and families in the Greater Boston area by alleviating economic distress and helping them reach financial stability. Please make a donation to Yad Chessed to help others celebrate Purim and to perform the Mitzvah of Purim Tzedakah.

Temple Sinai's Community 2nd Night Seder

Thursday, April 2, at 6:00pm in Ehrenfried Hall at Temple Sinai

Registration required by Wednesday, March 18.

Join us for a festive and joyful Passover seder, led and organized by Temple Sinai members! Our Seder service will be led by Jeremy Wolfe and Robin Orwant. The Pesach meal will feature a delicious holiday meal, catered by Baker’s Best. Cost is $60 per person for adults and $45 per person for children under 10. Click here to register.

Jewish Ways in the End-of-Life & Mourning: A 3-Session Series in 2026

Session 2: “What do I do in a House of Mourning?”

This session will offer clear guidance on Jewish customs, prayers, and etiquette when visiting a house of mourning. We’ll explore how to provide genuine comfort while honoring the traditions that support the bereaved. Led by Rabbi Vogel and leaders of the Caring Network.

Temple Sinai’s Immigration Shabbat

Friday, March 13 at 6:00pm at Shabbat Services

Temple Sinai welcomes Rev. Manny Daphnis, Lead Pastor, Restoration Community Church, Brockton and other special guests (to be announced soon). During this time when the Trump Administration is determined to revoke Temporary Protective Status (TPS) for Haitian refugees, we stand in solidarity with our Haitian friends in Greater Boston. Come learn more about how we can support their community at this time, among other local immigrant communities facing grave challenges.

Shake Your Soul Yoga & Dance Class

Sunday, March 15 at 3:00pm in Ehrenfried Hall

Join Temple Sinai member Marcia Hulley for an all-levels dance class originally created at the Kripalu Yoga Center in the Berkshires. Set to music of all kinds, this hour of embodied, soulful movement invites connection, expression, and renewal—exploring how healing and movement can be a form of spiritual resilience. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Sponsored by the Engagement Committee.

Musician-in-Residence Weekend with Shira Kline

Friday-Sunday, March 20-22

Shira Kline is a Ritual Artist, Teacher, Award-winning Kiddie-Rocker ShirLaLa, Recipient of the prestigious 2024 Covenant, Foundation Award.

Join us for a fantastic musical weekend with Shira Kline, a multi-disciplinary artist and student of everything. Shira’s approach to

Judaism is environmental and relational, and her materials are in the field of sacred play. Her work as an educator and Jewish musician is to weave experience and to facilitate learning moments from within the rhythms of Jewish expression. We are very excited to welcome her to Temple Sinai for a full weekend of events!

Weekly Sunday Afternoon Mahjong

Weekly on Sundays, 3:00-5:00pm in the Weintraub Community Room

Join us to play at our weekly Sunday Sinai Mah Jong games! All who play are welcome to this friendly game. Come enjoy an afternoon of strategy, community and enjoyment. Whether you are a seasoned expert or still learning the game, you are welcome to join! If you are a complete novice, please contact Robin Orwant ahead of time. Mah Jong sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own set, and please bring your own card, if you have one. Please note: this is not a class for learning how to play the game.

Jewish Voices Rising: A Benefit Concert for the Children of Gaza

Sunday, March 8, 7:00pm-9:00pm at Eliot Church, 474 Centre St, Newton, MA

An evening of song and inspiration with Jewish musicians of the Boston area, to raise funds for Gaza Children Village. This event is co-sponsored by our Israel-Palestine Affinity Group, as well as a number of synagogues in the Greater Boston area. Gaza Children Village is an organization created by Palestinian-American Dr. David Hasan in April 2025 in response to the devastation of Gaza, and in particular the impact on tens of thousands of orphaned children, and it provides education, nutrition, healthcare, and psychosocial support for orphaned and vulnerable children across Gaza. New England Jewish Labor Committee 26th Annual Labor Seder

The Labor Seder is a unique interfaith and inter-community awards dinner that ties the rituals and stories of Passover to contemporary labor struggles. This year, we are proud to honor our labor awardee Jessica Tang, president of the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts, and our Jewish community awardees Rabbi Barry Dollinger and R' Emily Goldberg Winer of Congregation Beth Sholom, Providence.
