Hello, Bailey-

This week, we joined Bethany United Methodist Church (just down Mineral Point from us!) to co-host Vacation Bible Camp with them, and what a joyous week this has been!

(click on photos to see more!)

Every day, the kids got to learn one of four stories:

  • Jesus feeding the 5,000
  • Moses and the Israelites eating manna
  • Elijah being cared for by some ravens and the widow
  • Jesus sharing the last supper with his disciples

The kids also learned some great songs like: "Come on Children, to the Gospel Feast," "We Are One in the Spirit," and "The Fruits of the Spirit!"

There was t-shirt decorating, cookie making, and some dramatic retellings of our stories.

All in all, our kids are hopefully walking away with lessons that remind them how God cares for each and every single one of us and how we can care for others and share not only bread with one another, but God’s love with one another!

Lisa (Director of Children’s Ministries at Bethany), the kids, and I are excited to share these songs and stories with you all in worship on Sunday. May you be reminded of God’s abundant love for each of us and ready to share that abundant love (and bread) with those around you.

Peace,

Megan

Sometimes even secular music hits a grace note. We’re excited about our summer sermon series Playlist: Gospel on the Radio! On your favorite radio channel or streaming, which music artists do you connect with spiritually? Below is the lineup of artists for the series. Click on the button for a playlist so you can listen to music by each artist the week before. It should be a fun summer of listening to and reflecting on music together!

Our June Spiritual Stroll will be at Holy Wisdom Monastery - note the location change! These strolls are part of CONNECT, a program of deacon-sponsored events with the intention of fostering connection between Covenant and the community. Spiritual Strolls take place on 4th Sundays, and we visit a different green space every month.

Boys & Girls Club holds their annual Move ‘N’ Groove fundraiser on July 20 and Covenant is participating! The Presbywheelians is the team from Covenant that bikes for this fundraiser for BGCDC. You can now sign up to join the team or donate to support the team! Registration is $60 until July 1 ($65 after). The annual Black History Walk will take place on June 22 at noon this year. Visit the Facebook event page for more info.

In addition to this 1-mile walk, there is a 50k walk to support youth that starts here at Covenant at 5am. They meet up with the Black History Walk at noon, then finish in Sun Prairie at 8pm. Needless to say, this walk is very physically demanding, but if you are interested in participating, contact Covenant members Steve Whayland, Peter/Nancy Gunder, or Eric Girard.
