Birds, Donuts, and "A Tidal Wave of Green"
Greetings!

I wrote about lists last week. Here’s my list of five good news items for today.

1. Spring is coming. I heard birds singing this morning as I walked around the neighborhood. It’s getting warmer and the snow is melting. I might go for a bike ride on Saturday! According to weather.com, 13 of the next 14 days have a high temperature in the 40s.
2. Our solar panels generated a teeny bit of energy today for the first time in several weeks. Click on the photo above to monitor the status of the panels.

3. Drive Thru Donuts and Devotions is back! Join the fun on Sunday, March 7. See info below. Invite a friend.

4. We are considering the possibility of an Easter morning gathering in the church parking lot, with music, scripture, and prayer. Stay tuned.
5. Trees are growing in La Oroya, a Peruvian community devastated by pollution. A group of us from Covenant visited there in August 2019, and we actually helped to plant some of those trees—now described as “a tidal wave of green.” Presbyterian Mission Co-workers Jed and Jenny Koball are working with local groups to help this process, and we are supporting them with mission dollars.

With all the bad news in our lives now, we need to celebrate the good news wherever we can. Jesus came to proclaim good news, and he called people like us to share it.

I encourage you to make a list of five good things, and give thanks to God and find a way to share good news with someone. Send me your list please!

Have a great weekend!

Grace and peace,
Charlie

The Gospel According to Matthew Scribe Series Begins Monday, March 1!

Lent is a great time to read the Bible. We hope you’ll join us in reading Matthew 1 on March 1, Matthew 2 on March 2, all the way to Matthew 28 on March 28.

Covenant scribes have been writing the Gospel of Matthew in their own handwriting. To read their version of Matthew, you can sign up for a daily email or you can find the readings for Matthew 1-28 HERE. If desired, we can print and mail a copy, although we ask for a $5 donation to cover color printing and postage.
