CONNECTIONS: Fashion Statements
Greetings!

The new t-shirts are here!

You can buy one on Sunday, or during the week for $8. We have medium, large, XL, and XXL. And we have children's sizes for only $6!
On Sunday, September 8, we celebrate our 65th anniversary. We hope you'll wear a Covenant t-shirt (a new one or an old one!) or something colorful on that day. Mark your calendars for a festive celebration.

Before then, you can wear your Covenant t-shirt wherever you like. If you travel this summer, bring a shirt and take a photo, and we'll share it with our growing album of pix. (See info below, including a photo of Dick Lovell in San Diego with his green Covenant shirt!)

Whatever you wear, I have an invitation for you. As you put on your clothes in the morning, make it a time of prayer.
As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love , which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts....
--Colossians 3:12-15
Let Paul's words in Colossians 3 inspire you. Take 15 seconds right now, and slowly read the words above in the orange box.

Tomorrow morning, as you put on your clothes, ask God to clothe you with compassion, kindness, patience, and above all with love. I try to do this on a daily basis. When I forget, I find myself being more grumpy and self-absorbed in the day.

Asking God to clothe us with kindness and love is a good way to start the day. God's clothing is always in fashion.

On the journey together,
Charlie
Sharing Photos!
We want to see your photos! Please send in your favorite summer photo (just one or two, not all of them!)—from Madison to Mongolia, or anywhere in between.
So far we have about ten photos, from Australia, to San Diego, to the Badlands. Click on the photo above to see them. If you have photos to share, please send print and/or digital copies to Pastor Jeff ( jfoxkline@covenantmadison.org ) or the church office.
Church Photo Directories
Speaking of photos, our updated directory is here!
If your household was in the 2017 pictorial directory, or you had your photo taken in April for this new edition, you’ll find your copy of the new directory on tables in the main hallway. Each directory has a personalized label on it, so please be sure to pick up your own, not someone else’s! A limited number of extra copies are available for $5.00 if you missed those last two photo opportunities.

Guatemala Partnership
Your Mission Dollars at Work!
Covenant has a long history of supporting mission in Guatemala: education, health care, leadership development, and theological training.

Part of our support goes to Presbyterian Mission Co-workers, who minister in partnership with local churches, organizations, and people.

After the retirement of Covenant friends Sandi and Brian Thompson-Royer, we are now supporting Eliane Menezes. Click on her photo to read about her ministry, and please pray for her and the people of Guatemala.
