Last Sunday, Covenant youth (and advisors) hosted a Halloween party for kids, with a haunted hallway, games, and snacks. It was lots of fun. The costumes were great and the treats were yummy! Click on the group picture to see more.

This coming Sunday is All Saints' Day, when we light candles and remember loved ones who have died, especially in the past year. We'll sing "For All the Saints" and give thanks to God for those who have made the journey before us.
Sometimes life is fun. Sometimes it's sad. We share the journey together, sharing the joys and the burdens.
| |
|
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep."
Romans 12: 15 NRSV
| |
It's easy to share the fun; it's hard to share the sadness. All Saints Day reminds us of the saints who've gone before us and of our calling to support and care for each other.
|
"Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2 NRSV
| |
|
So this Sunday, as we light candles, not only will I remember my parents and my brother, but also I remember that everyone around me is grieving. For some, the grief is very fresh and strong. I pray for God's strength and grace so that we can be compassionate with everyone.
In Christian hope,
Charlie

Racist Anonymous Fellowship's next book study is a 4-week study on "Dixie's Daughters" by Karen L. Cox (2019 edition) beginning on November 16 on Zoom. If you are curious to know why and how so many Confederate monuments were built after the Civil War and why the myth of the "Lost Cause" became so entrenched in the South, this book is very enlightening. Email Jennifer Morgan for more information or for the link to the Zoom meeting.
