Summer School is open! What are YOU going to learn? How are you going to grow?
Last Sunday in our Pentecost worship service, we remembered that the Holy Spirit is a teacher (John 14:26) and that now is as important a time as any for us to be learning and growing in God’s love.
So I invited everyone to develop a learning plan for the summer, focused on foundational Christian practices of Scripture and Prayer. My hope is that all of us will pick one way to engage with both Scripture and Prayer this summer.

My plan for Scripture involves digging into my study Bible and the little book of Colossians. Just this week, I noticed something I never really noticed before. The next to last verse of this little letter says: "And say to Archippus, ‘See that you complete the task you have received from the Lord.’” |

I wish you all the best with any efforts you make to engage more deeply with Scripture and Prayer this summer. May God inspire your plans and help you complete the tasks!

After 34 years in the church office, Mary Kieta is retiring. One of her retirment gifts is a quilt (made by Laurie Jones) which we can sign. Stop by the church before the end of June to sign it.

Our new Church Administrator is Bailey Green, and she begins on Monday, June 13, overlapping with Mary for several days. We will introduce Bailey in next week's CONNECTIONS. |

Memorial Services
We prematurely sent out yesterday's obituary email with a mistake in the section about Laurie McDowell's service. Our sincere apologies to the McDowell family. The time has now been set for Laurie's memorial service; it will take place Saturday, June 18 at 2:00pm with a 12:30pm visitation.
The memorial service for Roy Yeazel is Saturday, June 11 at 4:00pm, with a visitation reception at 2:00pm.

The Soul Sisters will wind up this year with a potluck at Covenant! If the weather is nice, they will meet in the courtyard for the meal; but if raining the meal will take place in Bradfield Hall. Bring whatever you wish to share with others. Beverages will be provided. BYO tableware (plates, utensils, cups), though please be conscious of our planet. Discussion will center around next year’s programming, after we catch up with each other’s lives and cares and concerns. Please join us for an evening of face-to-face socializing for the first time in a long time. If you haven’t been a regular this year, please come – be involved in planning for the next season. The Pentecost Offering goes to support helping youth begin life with a strong start – a solid foundation of faith formed in the first third of life, from childhood through young adulthood. We received this special offering last Sunday, and between Sunday giving and online giving, we raised $1,298.81. 40% of gifts Covenant receives remains with our congregation to support Extended Hands Pantry.
