CONSECUTIVE, SINGLE-LANE CLOSURE SCHEDULED DURING CONSTRUCTION ON I-264 EAST IN VIRGINIA BEACH
VIRGINIA BEACH – Starting as early as Sept. 10 at 10 p.m., contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will implement a consecutive, single-lane closure on I-264 east from the Greenwich Road flyover bridge to Witchduck Road (exit 15) in Virginia Beach.

The single-lane closure, which will be in place continuously until approximately Sept. 24, will allow crews to safely work alongside the interstate to widen I-264 with the extension of the existing collector-distributor lanes from Newtown Road (exit 15) to Witchduck Road (exit 16).

Closing one lane of I-264 east in this location leaves four lanes open to traffic.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
