CONSTRUCTION BEGINS AT CCCHS

We are pleased to announce a major renovation project has begun on our campus. A new, larger entranceway is being constructed at the St. Stanislaus Social Center which is used by our school, St. Stanislaus Elementary School, and the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus community.

The project scope includes the installation of an elevator, replacement of existing windows, reconstruction of the rear entrance used to supply the cafeteria, and replacement of an existing parking lot with a pedestrian-friendly promenade and outdoor gathering space. The Social Center which opened in 1960, houses our gymnasium, cafeteria, school transportation office and our Athletic Director's office and is the most highly utilized space on our campus.

This project will have a dramatic positive impact on the school and parish communities. We look forward to celebrating its completion this fall.

We are grateful to all those individuals and organizations whose generosity helped make this project a reality. A special thanks to Mr. George Chase `61 for his support of this wonderful project.

While we are on the topic of construction, students in the CCCHS Construction & Building Trades

(C & BT) Program were presented with Carhartt jackets courtesy of the Lozick Foundation. Pictured are the students in the second year cohort class of Cuyahoga Community College's Pre-Apprenticeship program wearing their new jackets embroidered with the Cleveland Central Catholic Logo and the Construction & Building Trades Program name.

Our students are thriving in our C & BT Program and learning a valuable set of skill sets in the construction industry.

WELCOME BACK WINIFRED "WINNIE" WILSON `13

Winifred "Winnie" Wilson `13 is back on campus this week working on research for her current dissertation focused on addressing mental health disparities in the Black community, and especially among teens. She is meeting with CCCHS students to gain a better understanding about teen mental health issues from their perspective. Winnie said, "My goal is to illuminate their voices and gain insight into the messages they receive from the media and society that tells them they are not worthy of a fulfilling, purposeful life that we all deserve."

Winnie has enjoyed her time meeting with our students this week and getting reacquainted to her alma mater. As a CCCHS student, she finished in the top 10 of her graduating class. From her first psychology class at CCCHS, taught by Mr. Anthony Bien `99, Winnie knew she wanted to become a psychologist.

After graduating from CCCHS, Winnie attended Baldwin Wallace where she majored in psychology and minored in neuroscience. Winnie received her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education to become a therapist. The training director encouraged Winnie to apply and interview for the counseling psychology doctoral program where she was accepted. As a licensed therapist and psychologist in training, Winnie primarily works with trauma and racial trauma with children, adolescents and adults. She will earn her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2026. Keep up the great work Winnie, and welcome back to CCCHS! Go Ironmen!
