CONTINUOUS, SINGLE-LANE CLOSURE SCHEDULED ON I-264 WEST THIS WEEK
NORFOLK/VIRGINIA BEACH – As progress continues on the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Project, crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation will implement a continuous, left-lane closure on I-264 west from Independence Boulevard (exit 17) to Newtown Road (exit 15), starting as early as Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m.

This closure will remain in place continuously through Friday, April 15, at 5 a.m.

Due to the nature and scope of this work, the lane closure must remain in place, once established, until the work is completed. This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.

Motorists are encouraged to prepare for delays and seek alternate routes, when possible. Plan your commute with VDOT’s free traffic information tools:
