COP 26---November 11, 2021--e-note #7
What's HappeningView as Webpage
Where are we?
While the success of the COP is debatable, there have been some steps forward including: the agreement between the US and China from yesterday and multi-national climate agreement draft. Loss and Damage is still a big priority that needs greater action.

The UN climate conference has seen an unprecedented discussion of fossil fuels — the overwhelming source of greenhouse gas emissions — and their role in the climate crisis. Here is a recording of an event (starts at 10 minute mark) that reflects on the progress made and what still is needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_VW2zLq6ng

World Voices
The global campaign to Make Big Polluters Pay just released a powerful video of climate activists from across the world naming what’s at stake and calling on government delegates to deliver real solutions, block carbon markets and ensure that Global North governments pay and do their fair share.
Here is a video with their voices https://vimeo.com/644682535
Prayers/Reflections
Let us reflect today in a meditative way with young people of faith at the COP in this interfaith video that they created. As we see their beautiful faces and hear their words may we give thanks and promise to live out our spiritual path with them as together we care for Our Common Home.

You can find tweetable videos here, where IPL is posting daily prayers and updates from IPL & friends.
