What's the Ideal Annual Withdrawal Rate?
There is one question asked by all financial planners' clients: "How much can I safely withdraw from my retirement portfolio?" This is an important question. If you get the answer wrong, or don't ask it at all, the results can be disastrous when you retire.

There are so many personal variables to factor in for each client that it might seem impossible to approach any sort of sensible answer. This article features multiple scenarios, and looks at a 25-year retirement period assuming a retirement age of 70 and a starting balance of $1 million.

To start exploring this topic,  read this article at Financial Planning.com . It includes a "Withdrawal Rate Matrix" showing the effects of withdrawing 1% to 15% of retirement funds, and how that affects long-term goals.

Take Advantage of a Complete Insurance Review
As we approach the end of the year, now is a perfect time to review your business insurance coverage. Why, you may ask? We want you to be absolutely certain your personal assets are shielded from your business-related exposure and liabilities.

Consider these questions.
  • Do you have the correct replacement cost values on your business equipment and contents?
  • Are you protected for accidents caused by your employees while driving their cars on your time?
  • Does your workers' compensation policy provide coverage for source-patient testing in the event of a needlestick?
  • Do you have the legally-required ERISA coverage for your employee savings plans?
  • Do you have coverage for backup of sewer and water?
  • Do you own a building? If so, did you know you are not covered for flood unless you have a specific policy for your building?
If you don't know the answers to any one of these questions, contact Mitch Laycock to schedule a complimentary review of your entire insurance portfolio. To kick off the conversation, take a look at this Business Insurance Coverage Checkup form from The Hartford or you can find it online and complete the assessment on The Hartford's website.
Can I Refinance My Student Loans?
Are you still paying off your student loans? With the federal government recently lowering interest rates, you may be wondering if glasses_on_book.jpg you can refinance them. There are several different options for you to consider, including securing a private loan, federal loan consolidation, or other choices like a home equity loan or a loan against your 401(k).

It's important to choose carefully so your path forward is a smooth one.  Our partners at Woodbury Financial have put together an article to answer your questions.

For further information and a complimentary consultation, contact Jeff Feakes at (720) 858-6285.
